Light Wash & Rinse

Apparently, I have a check list for pissing off fashion gurus. I already crossed off Spring/Summer dresses, rompers and shortalls from my Winter styles to try. Now, I can put a hallowed line through pinafores, too. ^_^ I got the fantastic light wash denim pinafore from Fiery Finish Vintage. The owner, Chrissi, was kind enough to sponsor my blog and to donate an item from her shop for me to style.

It was so hard for me to choose just one item. There are so many things I love. I want all the things! >_< The fisherman's turtleneck sweater underneath is from Fiery Finish Vintage, as well! It was one of my first ever purchases from Chrissi and I still regard it as a fantastic investment. It's so warm! <3

So, I wanted to put together something with feminine qualities, but that was still rough around the edges. The pinafore and leather jacket combo seemed to do the trick. I don't know why I haven't done the sweater/jacket pairing before. It's a great way to get wear out of a light jacket in colder weather.

Amazingly, I didn't have to layer as much, because it was a beautiful day. The temperature was above 35°F; the sun shined bright; and there wasn't a grey cloud to be seen. It actually felt like Spring. WTF!? o_O Yes, it was a perfect day for a light pinafore, but I know better than to think that this type of weather will last. Harsh times are ahead and, knowing that, I relished the warmth of the sun and the melting snow. Nevertheless, I wore the wool sweater underneath the pinafore and layered a faux leather jacket over that to fend off the intermittent cold breeze, a chilly reminder that it is still Winter, after all. >_<

I don't know what it is with me and layering two pairs of tights, these days. I just can't stop doing it. >_< Haha. Given the fantastic weather and my good spirits, I felt like adding a subtle nod to a Spring that is still very far away. Hence, I layered a pair of blue floral tights underneath the faux OTK dark ones.

It's been weirdly warm and spring-ish here too and I'm not ready to give up my winter layering. It'll probably be cold next week though. You can never predict it! But anyway, I really love the turtleneck fisherman sweater and I think it looks great layered under this denim jumper. I'm getting a cool 90s vibe!

Right? It's super annoying, especially when the uncharacteristically warm weather starts to get my hopes up. I actually looked at the bare trees hoping to see some budding leaves. Haha. Totally fooled. April can't get here soon enough! <3

I adore pinafore dresses they go with everything! I love how you layer items, especially the tights, it's my favourite thing to do too. But sometimes I put too many layers on and I get too hot on trains or the underground haha.

Rad! Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I chose this dress. Maximum versatility! Oh, I've been there with the whole feeling great outside and then dying when I'm on the train or in a coffee shop. Haha. I try to wear layers that I can take off. So, in my previous post, I wore two sweaters of the same color. This allows me to take off a layer without messing up the color scheme in my outfit. Things get messier with a pinafore though. Usually, what you have on underneath kind of has to stay there, especially if you're lazy like me. Hehe. So, I tried not to wear too many layers underneath the turtleneck. It's pretty warm to begin with. :P

I was going to wear just plain black tights, at first, but then this combo popped into my head and when I tried both tights on, I was like..'huh, not bad.' Hehe. :D <3

LOVE LOVE LOVE how you styled it! I've actually never considered layering a chunky sweater under a pinafore, so thanks for the inspiration too! The pop of color from the hat and floral tights is perfect for a day when you're dreaming of spring. Well I think you look adorable. I'm totally into the layering-with-two-tights thing -- whatever keeps you warm, man, and I like the pseudo-garter look it provides. And it keep the whole outfit interesting, I think. LIke your sweater underneath that romper. ;)

YES, the weather was so nice today! Cute pinafore! I was eyeing up this plaid pinafore the other day, just to go along with my schoolgirl look obsession.

It's hard for me to wear thick sweaters and jackets, just because my jackets are usually snug and my sweaters thick. Interesting how you brought pairing those two up. I would've thought myself that they were a no brainer, but I realized that I don't do that myself very often!

I love the way you layer your clothes! I definitely am on the lookout for ways to incorporate my skirts into a more winter friendly package, but I get cold so easily I always end up donning a pair of pants anyway. This jumper + denim dress is such a cute look!
