The Sound Of Color

I love this vintage denim pinafore from Fiery Finish Vintage. <333 When I first wore it, I did kind of an edgy look and I had alluded to the possibility of wearing it in a much sweeter way. Well, that day is finally upon us. ^_^ I stared at the pinafore for a long time and wondered about how else I could wear it, other than in the most obvious of ways. That's how I got the bright idea to tuck it into a skirt. :P~

This candy striped top sings to me. It's so vibrant and colorful. I love it! <3 Also, a pinafore with a skirt? Yep. Yeah, dudes. I just did that. This won't be the last time, either. I'm pretty sold on it. Hehe. :DDD

This new way of wearing a pinafore opened up a whole slew of possibilities. It's such a simple thing to do, too! I don't know why it has taken me this long to try it out. >_< Anyway, I decided to use the matching belt that came with my top and wear it 'back to front,' as my Jamaican mother would say. Heh. I struggled with whether it was too matchy matchy, but my partner liked it. Good enough for me!

Oh and we were on our way to a coffee shop when these photos were taken. My Player Two had some work do to and I always feel like I could work on lesson plans hehe, so we thought we'd get a little fresh air, first. When we got to the coffee shop, the barista said, 'You always look so cute when you come here!' She then proceeded to shower me with compliments and then asked, 'You don't mind if I tell her [the other barista] how much I like your outfit?' I told her, 'As long as you don't do it in front of me,' because I was beyond embarrassed. She completely ignored me and did it, anyway. >_< Haha.

I tried to hide behind my partner and he kept moving. Bastard. You know, I think I prefer when people just stare and give me weird looks. Apparently, I can't take compliments. I shrivel with every kind word. Obviously, I'm not celebrity material. Hahaha. I wouldn't be able to handle it. Anyway. Yeah. Bye. >_<

Aww, yeah. Picnic time, bitches! >:D~ ~ I love a good picnic. I'm kind of obsessed with the notion of picnicking, actually. (Yes, that's a word. I promise!) I mean, let's face it. At its core, you're just lying around on a blanket, eating, drinking and generally doing nothing...outside. This is very important.

Being outside is crucial! Heh. I don't really believe that, just so you know. I've forced my partner into an indoor picnic, before. I made us lunch; put out a blanket in the living room right in front of the TV; cracked open some canned beers; and forced him to watch terrible film after terrible film.

It...was...glorious. <3 I can't even remember why we did that. Maybe it was raining outside or it was 1000 degrees or something. *shrug* I'll take any excuse, really. I wish I could better articulate why I love picnics so much. It's just..a feeling, you know? I always feel so relaxed and free when I'm on a picnic.

It's the one time that I can actually let go of everything. I'm the kind of person who has to be forced to take any kind of vacation and when I do, I don't feel like I'm on vacation until that point where it's time to leave. Haha. I basically need a 1-2 week adjustment period. A picnic is like an instant vacation, I guess.

A couple of years ago, I was on Amazon obsessing about picnics..Haha. Uhh, yeah and I found this awesome red plaid picnic blanket that has waterproof lining. It rains frequently during the summer over here, so we've come to appreciate that little design element. Also, it folds up neatly and it has an attached handle. ^_^ So, my partner carried that gem while I safe guarded our treasure: curry mayo tuna sandwiches (don't knock it 'til you try it!), Dale's Pale Ale and a ziplock bag of chips.

Yeah. Uh uh. Canned beer and ziplock bags. Classy like a motherf*cker. That's how I like to roll. Haha. Normally, I don't ask you guys a whole lot of questions and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but I'm curious. Have you ever been on a picnic? If so, what kind of stuff do you like to bring? ^_^
