Thrifty Trendsetter Feature in Cocoa Report

What a wonderful gift on this New Year's Eve! I woke up this morning to find that I am Cocoa Report's Thrifty Trendsetter of the Week! I'm so flattered and humbled by this small spotlight that I've received.
I started my blog just five months ago and I really don't consider my blog to be a high traffic website by any means. I have some very loyal and incredibly sweet readers, which I cherish, but I certainly don't consider myself uber popular. The latter characterization makes me uncomfortable, anyway. At any rate, I'm happy to have had this opportunity to let people know who I am and what inspires me.

Hey! Merry XMAS, guys! I hope everyone is having a joyful and restful day! I'm looking forward to celebrating this wonderful occasion with good food, seasonal beer and hopefully The Hobbit. :D

Normally, I would spend this time with my family, but I can't get away this year, so it'll be just my partner and I in our modest apartment with our little artificial XMAS tree. Hehe. It should be fun, though!

Anyway, umm..do I look cold in this photo? Well, I was freezing! Haha. ;P~ I'm sure you can guess where I spent most of the day. Yep. A coffee shop. ;D After an amazing breakfast, my partner and I went to one of the many coffee joints I like to frequent in town, but we made a pit stop on the
way so I could chronicle what I was wearing for the old fashion blog.

It's basically preppy chic. I guess I was just feeling that vibe. I'm not really wearing anything new here, except the white/red polka dot scarf of which you can see some pictures below. Though, I must say,
I love this chocolate/mint blouse. I chose to wear it casually, but I've also dressed it up. You can see the more dressy look here. It's a versatile piece and a lot of fun to play around with.

I wore the white/red polka dot scarf like a neck tie. I think it added a much needed splash of aesthetic interest. I was happy to put my black zipper jacket back on, though. I couldn't feel my fingers! Haha. I'm surprised I got any decent photos, to be honest. I like how the wind caught my scarf in the photo below, though. It was such a cold, biting wind, too. At least it was good for something!

I also carried my thrifted black/white checkered backpack which I filled with my laptop, iPod, iGrado headphones and my 900-page Wheel of Time novel which I just can't seem to finish (Part 4 of 12 - actually the series is on-going). I feel like I've been reading that book forever. *Sigh* :/~

At any rate, it was a great day of lounging, coffee drinking and well overdue reading. :P
