Some of these items were added in late Summer and some were added this Fall. I haven't been as diligent in keeping everyone updated on additions to my shop. Omgosh, you guys! It's XMAS, tomorrow! Squee! <3 *^____^* <3 Now, I *have* to say that I managed to escape the frozen tundra, this year. I'm actually in Florida, right now. Yep. Sunny Florida. Haha. I've been here for about four days and it has been pretty great. It feels so weird to be outside grilling in late December, dude. I'm not going to complain, though! ;P~ So, yeah. I actually wore this outfit to brunch, last weekend. I wanted to do something festive before leaving, so I picked bright red and ran with it. I was nervous about doing red monochrome. I already tried it once and with pretty good results. At that time, I played around with colors in the same family, like orange and burgundy, but also added purple for contrast. This time, I tried to just stick with different shades of red and I think it turned out OK.
I didn't want to do a mostly red outfit, because that's realllly tricky and I'm not that talented. Haha. So,
I figured I'd stick with just two shades of red and temper the outfit with dark colors to keep things balanced. The brick red plaid coat is a recent thrift find and I really love it. I was super stoked when I found it, because I've had plaid coats on my wish lists for quite some time. The lining on the inside of the coat is pretty chewed up, but it's a pre-worn item, so that comes with the territory. The rest of the coat is in very good condition, though, and I look forward to finding other creative ways to style it. To make things a *little* bit more interesting, I wore snowflake patterned black tights instead of plain black ones. I don't know if I pushed it too far, but these tights are so cute! Hehe. I just had to wear them. I know a lot of you are traveling and this is a super busy time of year. So, I don't expect many people to see this post, at least for a few days. Haha. However, if you're reading this, I hope this outfit gave you a little bit of joy. I know that I felt super happy while wearing it! *^_^* Happy Holidays and stay warm! <3 Thrifted - ModCloth Red Plaid Coat & ModCloth Red Dress (Swap Group) Warby Parker - Notched Key Hole Glasses In Tortoise Chicwish - Black Snowflake Patterned Tights ModCloth - Black Patent Shoes
