I've been wearing a lot of cutesy things, lately. So, I wanted to end the week with something a little dark and edgy, but not necessarily scary. ;P Also, as you can see, I took a stab at showing a little cleavage. Ooh la la. o_O Haha. I was going to wear something sheer underneath the bustier top, but I figured, 'Hey, I'm young. I should show a little skin before it gets all wrinkly. Live a little, Anna!' Hehe.

Plus, I got a chance to show off my dragon tattoo. :DDD It's on my back, so I keep forgetting I have it! >_< I got the work done six years ago and I've probably shown it off maybe a dozen times. I don't often wear things that show my off chest and back. Hmm. Since when did I become so conservative? Haha.

Anyway, it was chilly enough for a coat, but too hot for a sweater. So, the outfit was appropriate for all-day wear. You might recognize the black lace maxi skirt. Click here to see how I last wore it as part of a scarier outfit. ;D I decided to pin the skirt, again, but at a sharper angle so it would twist and fold at the side. I've always wanted one of those asymmetrical twist maxi skirts, but I can't justify spending money on something like that, right now. So, I used a pin and made my own. ^_^
Like I said before, I can't sew a garment from scratch, but I can still find ways to "make" new clothes for myself. Heh.

The crazy bright turquoise over-the-knee socks are from my sponsor, Sock It To Me. It's the final pair of socks that I received from them and it's quite an eye catcher. Normally, I would wear them underneath jeans and just roll up the cuffs to show off the rad print (and that's probably how they'll get worn from here on out). However, the print is so bright and fun that I would have felt bad about not showing the socks in their entirety. I wanted a pop of color without being too distracting, so I twisted the skirt in such a way that it would conceal most of one sock while completely showing off the other.
:P
Yep. That's basically it! I didn't do any crazy layering to add drama. Instead, I played with colors and shapes to make this simple outfit a little more fun to look at it. :D Finally, I want to take this opportunity to thank Sock It To Me for taking a chance on me and for putting trust in my sense of style. I absolutely love the socks I have received and I'm really grateful for the opportunity. Thanks for being awesome! <3

Where are all of the scary outfits? What gives?! o_O Haha. All in good time, bro. All in good time. Right now, I want to exercise my skills at creating a rustic, vintage look. Again, I took a page out of what I learned from last year's Minimalist Style Challenge and endeavored to put together something impactful while wearing as few pieces as possible. I used only a dress, skirt and duster cardigan. ^_^

Picture

Soooo, yeah. That's basically it. :D Lately, I noticed that I'm not wearing very much jewelry, if at all, in my photos. This is normal behavior for me, but I want to try to accessorize a little bit more. So, I wore a simple wooden bangle and this kick ass bottle cap necklace from Toronto. Click here to see the artwork on the inside. Incidentally, the last outfit I wore the necklace with also had a rustic, vintage vibe to it. :P

The floral zipper dress is a special favorite of mine. I've slowly changed my opinion about dresses over the past two years. Yeah, I think I like wearing them or whatever, now. Geesh. Still, I don't wear them all that often. When I go to my closet, 9/10 times I'll pick out a pair of shorts or a skirt over a dress. This one is really beautiful to look at, though. I really love the print and the burnished exposed zipper that gives it just a little bit of an edge. Click here to see a better view of the dress, including the lace hem.

The duster cardigan is another special piece. The color is perfect
and I think it looked great with the rich floral patterns and tiered cream skirt. The skirt is a few years old, but basically brand new. I kept avoiding it for some reason. It's the perfect Spring/Summer skirt, but it's super girly. Haha. The paper bag waist line is cute, I admit. Hehe. Maybe I can figure out how to toughen it up a bit for next time. :P

Overall, I really like how this outfit turned out. It ended up being a very simple, easy-to-wear (and pretty >_< hehe) ensemble for a lazy day of brunch and coffee. I hope your week is off to a good start! <3
