Flat White With Cane Sugar

This winter, I've worn a summer dress and romper without suffering any dire consequences. So, why not try a pair of shortalls? :D I've seen some bloggers wear shortalls all year round and I've always liked the winter shortall/overall styles. They just look so damn cozy! Also, I'm intrigued by the idea of wearing out-of-season garments and giving a big middle finger to fashion gurus, everywhere. Hehe. >;D

Wtf is "out-of-season," anyway? I'm wearing clothes. They're not like fruits and vegetables. There is a lot more flexibility and I don't think that nature can completely dictate what we wear. I think anything goes, as long as you know what you're doing. So, I decided to wear a cream elbow patch sweater underneath a pair of vintage dark denim shortalls. I wore a lace collar tunic underneath all that, because the collar is amazing and I think the bright white looked great on the cream backdrop. Then I added a beige coat as a neutral finish. I've wanted a coat in this color for ages. It will go with everything. :D

I received the coat from my sponsor, Oasap. The price fluctuates, but it was $34.44 when I ordered it. That is REALLY cheap for a coat. The quality is really good, too. The fabric is soft and the lining inside the coat is quite cozy. I ordered a Size Large, but I find that it fits me more like a Medium. I was hoping that I could wear my really thick vintage wool sweaters with this coat, but that might be stretch.

My partner and I decided to go for an afternoon walk. The sun was starting to go down around 3:30 PM and the colors in the sky were particularly nice. The best place to view the setting sun is by the lake, so that's where these photos were taken. ^_^ Even in shortalls, I felt warm and comfortable thanks to the five layers on top and two on the bottom. ;D When we got home, my partner made hot, mulled wine. A few cups of that business and you'll feel right as rain, let me tell you. Hehe. Have a great weekend! <3

I'm with you questioning why stuff is out of season! I pretty much exclusively wore heavily layered summer clothes throughout last years winter (and I didn't freeze to death) I also don't understand relegating certain colours to certain seasons.

I love the cute lace collar! And how warm is that coat? I find that a lot of cheap coats I find online aren't that warm. The sunset photo is beautiful!

I would say it's more of a Spring/Fall coat. The material is a wool/poly blend. There is some insulation, but it isn't a heavy winter coat by any means. :F I figured as much when I was looking at it on the site, so that's why I got the largest size available so I could wear many layers underneath in the winter. I'm just hoping that it doesn't look too oversized when I wear just a top or a dress under it in the Spring!

We're practically surrounded by water over here and it seems like everyone has a boat or jet skis. We've talked about getting a little sailboat for awhile now. Cute. :) Out of season, my ass! As long as you're not one of those girls who are half naked in the winter, or wearing stiletto heels to a country picnic, who cares?? I don't think style is about being trendy, it's about being able to dress for the occasion, and environmental circumstance, and still rocking it, if you know what I mean..

Heels to a picnic. Hahaha. Ahhh. Yeah. There is a time and place for everything. On that note, I rather like wearing tights in place of pants during the winter. I JUST now discovered so-called fleece lined tights. FLEECE LINED TIGHTS! How have I not become aware of this until now?! That beats what I'm doing at present, which is wearing up to two layers underneath my tights. >_< I don't know how I manage to not look like a plump sausage every time I get dressed. Oh and undressing is quite an affair. So many things to take off. I hate you, Winter! D: Also, I need some fleece tights. Heh.

You look gorgeous, love the top under the shorts, so cute :) I agree, I never put any of my stuff away for different seasons, I just layer if its colder. Pointless for me to put things away as once I do, I only have to go digging back for it as I want to wear it with something, haha :) These 'rules' are silly!! Have a wonderful weekend :) xx

Yeah, there's always that favorite thing that you love wearing no matter what the season. You're right. Just add some layers and you're good to go. So, for me, it's exciting, because for most people, half or more of their closet is tucked away in the attic or wherever as "spring clothes" or "summer clothes." I don't see those labels in my closet, so the possibilities are great and so is the chance for creativity! <3

To me, out of season is anything that I get too hot or cold in, and it has been a particularly cold winter lately (below zero). But I love the idea of wearing items in unexpected ways. This does look very cozy indeed!

Right! I think that's how most people would define it. The fun part starts when the realization that you can just add more layers kicks in. Hehe. When that happens, it becomes clear that almost *anything* goes and, for me, that's pretty awesome! :D

Squee!!! This look is so cute and very you. :D Shortalls are way less out there (winter-weather-wise), than say a flowery chiffon dress. I really struggle to wear my more "summery" dresses in winter. Bright colours and flowers especially just seem so out of place. But short-alls look rad! Some super thick tights, or layered up with tall socks and boots would be cool too. :D

Also, I love the coat! Gorgeous colour!

I love giving the f-you to fashion gurus with "out of season" styles! I've always loved the look of summer clothes piled on for winter! It was something that even drove my mom crazy when I was a kid and would come down the stairs for school with winter clothes under my summer stuff :) You layered this so cute- I wish I had some overall shorts now!
