I awoke to the sun shining through the blinds and it was glorious. ^_^ It's amazing what a little sunshine can do to brighten one's mood. It was in the mid-30's and it just felt so much like Spring that I couldn't help myself. I had to break out the floral tights. Trends and seasons be damned! It just felt right.
I happen to be quite transparent with my layering, so this outfit isn't all that complicated. That being said, I wanted to exemplify the Spring season from head to toe, so the color scheme was paramount.
Underneath the black coat, lies a yellow wool longline coat ($55) from my sponsor, Choies. My goal is to steadily introduce bright colored coats to my wardrobe, so I'm happy to finally add yellow to the mix. I had expected the color to be a little bit brighter, but in person it's actually more of a deep mustard. I'm totally cool with that, though. :D I really like the length and style. The coat is sewn with the seams on the outside, so it has an unfinished look to it that makes it unique. Also, I expected it to be thicker for a coat, but it's rather lightweight. In my opinion, it fits more like a blazer. As you can see, I was able to fit another coat over it with ease. It isn't bulky at all. Oh and I ordered a size medium! Fits perfectly!
To compliment the deep mustard and dark blue florals, I added a ruby red ModCloth dress that I was lucky enough to receive from my clothing swap group. It was sold out on the website and I had looked high and low for it. I found it on Ebay once, but it wasn't in my size. I was totally prepared to pay full price for this dress. So, I feel pretty lucky to have it. It's supposed to have a white belt, but the person who gave it to me had lost it. I haven't gotten around to buying a white belt for it and I didn't have any belts that I thought would really compliment the whole outfit, so I just decided to wear it without one.
That's about it! You've seen the perforated kitten heels here, the blue floral tights here, and the scalloped satchel here, among other posts. I felt so cheerful wearing this bright outfit. So many people smiled at me when I walked by. Hehe. ^_^ I hope you enjoyed it! Have a wonderful weekend! <3
