I love this red high waisted maxi skirt so much. ^_^ Every time I wear it, I can't help but do swishy things with it. Haha. It looks so great on a windy day. The soft fabric ripples and looks beautifully fluid.
So, of course I feel terrible that it has taken me so long to get around to wearing it, again. >_<
Click here to see how I last wore the skirt back in July. You'll see a bunch of photos I took at our local farmer's market, too. :D I wore a mix blacks and greys, back then. This time, I stepped it up by using lots of Fall colors. In that regard, the open weave duster cardigan seemed like the perfect addition. Its golden color works really well with the skirt. Also, it's lightweight and perfect for cooler temperatures.
This mint zippered handbag is amazing and I also feel bad about rarely ever wearing it. It's one of those things that I just fell in love with at first sight and that I always love seeing in my closet, but I just can't for the life of me figure out how to wear it. For some reason, I didn't think I'd have a problem working it into my wardrobe when I was contemplating buying it, but now that I have it I've been having a lot of difficulty styling it. I dunno. Maybe I'm just over-thinking it. I believe it was the right choice for this look, though. I wanted to go for something a little more earthy, like a light brown bag, but the stark turquoise ends up elevating the entire look and making it stand out even more...or so I hope? Hehe.
You might recognize this beautiful pleated floral "top." It's actually a romper and prior to this I wore it underneath pants (successfully, I might add hehe). This time, I decided to pair it with a high waisted skirt and of course that worked out wonderfully. The bright white background and the floral scheme are perfect on top of the skirt and, unlike with tight pants, I didn't have to worry about any seams showing.
In keeping with my desire to include only earthy hues, I went for these light brown zipper boots. I've mentioned this before, but I have them in two other colors: dark brown and black. I find that I wear both of those more often and of course this bothers the he ll out of me, because I like to get as much wear as possible out of all of my clothing. The dark down ones would have looked just fine with this, actually, but I forced myself to dust these off and I'm glad because they look great. Dare I say, even better! :D
