Hey, there! :D I was super stoked to finally do a farmers market run over the weekend. I always love going. Even though I get nervous around large groups of people, there's just something about the hustle and bustle of the farmers market that keeps me coming back again and again. You never know what you'll find or who you'll run into. It can be kind of a magical experience. Hehe. Plus, over time, you get to know the vendors really well and I find myself looking forward to catching up with them when I go. In some instances, I've made some long lasting friendships. So, it's a bit like going home.
In keeping with my self-imposed t-shirt challenge, I created a light and airy outfit around my super awesome narwhal tee. You may remember this tee from an outfit post I did last year. If you want to see that look, just click here. :P I kept the look casual with an open-knit cardigan and a lightweight maxi skirt. I wanted a maxi skirt in this color for a long time, so I'm happy to finally have one.
I've got a couple more new things to share and then I'll leave you with some of my favorite photos from the farmers market! :D So, as you can see, I also decided to wear a big floppy hat. I feel like, if you're going to go to an outdoor market in the heat, you need two things for sure: a maxi skirt/dress and a big hat. Hehe. I've had this hat forever and hardly wear it. I bought it back when I was living in Japan. I guess I don't really like how it looks on me, but it's the only sun hat I own, so...yeah. Heh.
Finally, in addition to a larger bag for my farmers market goodies (you'll see that below), I also carried a neutral colored handbag. I got it from Cotton On late last year and I was excited to finally have a reason to wear it. Some outfits require a neutral color as a finish, you know? I think this is one of them. :P
See? Our farmers market is pretty damn cool! :D I brought home lots of fresh veggies, but mostly delicious sweets of all kinds. I just can't resist baked goods made from scratch. I always have to get the homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I just can't live without it. Hehe. In the Fall, I usually opt for the more seasonal pumpkin cake version. It's soooo good! I hope you enjoyed the photos! :P
