I apologize for the inconsistent lighting situation, but the sun and clouds were seemingly locked in immortal combat when these photos were taken. >_< Anyway, I'm super stoked to share this latest creation with you guys. I'm proud of myself for taking some style risks here. Pattern mixing is a delicate situation. I've gotten it wrong plenty of times, but I really think I did a good job this time around. ^_^
As you probably know by now, being super colorful is not my forte. It takes a lot of thinking for me to figure out what works. I wish color coordination came as naturally to me as layering. Hehe. I love earth tones dearly, so when I go out of that comfort zone I feel really exposed. I got so many stares the day I wore this outfit (but lots of smiles and compliments, too!). It's hard to be low key when you're wearing clashing prints on top of neon plaid and bright yellow. Haha. >_< Oh that reminds me. This vintage mixed pattern eyelet cardigan is for sale in my Etsy shop and it's currently discounted as part of my Summer sale. So, if you love it, by all means purchase it before I change my mind and keep it!
Oh, these wonderful brown flats. *^_^* The more I wear them, the more I'm glad to have them. They're understated, but elegant and as close to "nude" as it will get for me, since most nude colored shoes are too light for my skin tone. I think these flats complimented the outfit in a subtle way.
This is pretty much a color explosion marked my confetti shaped like cherries. Haha. You last saw me wear this cherry print blouse in a rather cute way, last year. Click here to see that look. ^_^ <3
I received the vintage multi-color plaid skirt through my clothing swap group. I'm thinking about getting it tailored, because I want it to be high waisted and it rests on my hips (unless I belt it tightly as you see here). I'm wondering whether I'll need that extra room for sweaters in Fall/Winter, though. Hmm..
I think the brown tassel bag brought more femininity to the look as it is quite cute and it was certainly the right color. Hmm, you know, I can look like a sweet young girl when I put my mind to it. >_< Haha. Don't get too comfortable, though. I'm already thinking about ways to scare the daylights out of you.
