Prepare to be flooded with photos. >:D Hehe. I've had comments from people who lamented the fact that I include only a few photos in each blog post. I guess the reason why I do that is...well...I like to just get to the point, you know what I mean? Haha. I don't like to waste time with extraneous information. However, every now and then I make an exception (and such exceptions usually occur when I wear a particularly layered or complicated outfit). I did some weirdness with this one. So, let me explain. :P
Sooooo, you know that asymmetrical black cardigan that I love to wrap around myself every chance I can get? Yeah, that one. Well, I decided that I was going to wear it backwards, because why the f*ck not? While I was at it, I figured I'd do the same thing with the black high low top that I love so much.
As a result, this created some very interesting visual effects when my outfit is viewed from the back. The asymmetrical cardigan would blow every which way in the wind and this made the whole ensemble look even more dramatic, as I seemed to have wings of sorts when viewing the spectacle from the front.
Pretty f*cking awesome, yeah? :DDD I love wearing free flowing, asymmetrical, textured outfits. <3
The strips of white at my shoulders and at the back are from a white mini dress that has an attached. sheer asymmetrical overlay. I still can't believe I bargain binned that sh*t for $5 from Urban Outfitters. Best purchase ever. I've found so many creative ways to wear that dress (other than as originally intended--I've never worn it as is and I've had it for years haha). It's all about that sheer overlay!
All I did was tuck the mini dress part into my high waisted burgundy skirt and then let the attached overlay just do its thing. I used solid colors and brights like the clean white and deep red to help accentuate and clearly define the patterns, angles and different fabric lengths at play.
The light fabrics that I used in the outfit also made it easy to do some "super sick swishy things." Yes, I believe that's the technical term. Allow me to demonstrate. Y'all just keep driving and riding your bikes and whatnot. Nothing to see here. No, really. You can stop staring. I don't have a mental illness.
You know, I might *actually* have some mental problems. I don't know, really. Heh. I guess you have to be a little crazy to wear an outfit like this. ;) At any rate, I like to think of this look as a practical Halloween-ready outfit. As you know, I don't dress up as other people or monsters for Halloween. It just wasn't a part of my upbringing, really. Instead, I've taken to doing dark ensembles that are fit for the season, but that don't look like a costume. I think I could easily don a crazy face mask and step out in this outfit on Halloween and totally scare some people. >;D The nice thing is that I can just take the mask off and go into a coffee shop or restaurant and manage to disturb only some of the patrons. ;)
