Everything you see here I have worn before in some way, shape or form. Huzzah! :D I always get the most satisfaction out of creating fresh looks with garments that have been sitting in my closet for ages.
The blue marble denim cape is so f*cking sweet, man. I don't know how I've managed to avoid wearing it since May. o_O Click here to see another edgy look I created with the cape. I guess you could call it a jacket, too. I think it has characteristics of both which makes it so cool and unique. ^_^
The silver studded black backpack is something that I actually wear quite often, but for some reason the last time I showed it on my blog was April of this year. Admittedly, it's one of those backpacks that I immediately grab when I know I have to take my laptop somewhere. It's pretty casual (in my view) and the studs are an interesting, aesthetic twist on your run-of-the-mill black bag. Since it goes with almost everything, I am prone to wearing it with pretty boring outfits. Haha. So, maybe that's why it hasn't showed up on my blog until recently. Anyway, it holds a ton of stuff. It's an awesome backpack. :D
The (faux) leather collar houndstooth dress hasn't been worn since March of this year. I know. >_< When I put it on, I remembered the reasons why I bought it in the first place. The print and style are just so amazing and it fits me perfectly. I'm not really that big into dresses, but there's something to be said about a garment that fits. You know what I mean? You just feel good in it. That's how I feel about this dress. I remember really wanting to add houndstooth to my wardrobe and I was super nervous about whether I should get the dress. I'm glad that I did, because I truly fell in love with houndstrooth after that. In fact, I've been obsessed with it. Haha. I have a backpack and a coat in that print, now. :D
So, to make things more interesting, I wore mustard tights underneath my faux over-the-knee sock tights. ^_^ I wanted to add yellow to the outfit, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I entertained the idea of wearing my yellow Cambridge satchel, but I think the color would have been too bright. The sheer black paneling on the sock tights made the yellow tights appear darker and richer. So, it was perfect.
I've been wary about wearing the mustard tights on their own, because I think I would look ridiculous with yellow legs. Hehe. The first time I wore the tights, I put zipper leggings over them. I really want to get over this fear, though, and I've been knocking around some ideas. So, expect to see me wear the mustard tights again (and hopefully without covering them up too much) before the year is out. ^_^
