Woahhhhh. Feels weird to be back. Haha. Time flies. Holy sh*t. Can't believe it's been four months, already! Soooooo, I made it out of the country! Settled into our new place and saw a pretty sweet double rainbow from our balcony on the second day. I took that as a good omen. Hehe.
We ended up in a pretty sleepy neighborhood. It's nice and quiet, but there's a busy street bustling with pedestrians and all kinds of shops just around the corner. Kitty bro seems to have settled in nicely to her new surroundings, though you would have thought someone was trying to murder her in the midst of transporting her to our location. Holy Zeus. This girl can cry, let me tell you. Haha. I felt so sorry for her, but it just couldn't be avoided. At any rate, we slowly got some new, colorful furniture. I got the decks set up and I put up some nerdy wall decals throughout the living room. Also, we retired the periodic table of elements shower curtain and replaced it with a pretty rad octopus one. :P
Eventually (and by that, I mean, after about 30 days hehe), I found the courage to see what existed beyond the confines of our apartment. There are numerous little markets and outdoor grocers (bottom left photo) within walking distance. There's a really cool lakeshore bike path that is easy to access from a nearby park that takes you quite a ways downtown (top photo and top right photo). You can get a better sense of the places I've been to by checking out my Instagram page. I'd say the best place I've visited so far is Snakes & Lattes Cafe. It's the first board game cafe I've ever been to and I'm addicted!
As much as I'd like to just lollygag my way around town, I should probably try to make a living doing something or other. Haha. I thought about going back to law teaching, but I also wanted to give law practice another go. So, I'm studying for my legal assessment exams (basically they'll assess whether I have the practical knowledge necessary to practice law in the particular jurisdiction). Once I pass those exams (there are five of them), then I'll move on to applying for membership to the bar, which also has its own set of requirements and exams. Yikes. I know. Heh. I figured dual bar membership would look really good, especially if I decided to go back to law teaching. Knowledge of the laws of two countries is better than knowledge of one. That's what I always say...or...something. >_< Anyway, wish me luck!
Oh yeah and I finally got some time (of which I have very little thanks to exam prep, let me tell you heh), to put together a super sweet tech house mix. I added it to my music blog and you can get a full track list on Youtube. I don't know a lot of ladies who like house music or tech house, for that matter, so this will be an acquired taste for most of you, I imagine. Hehe. Try something new! You might dig it! :D
I'm thinking about returning to fashion blogging very soon. I study six days each week, so I'm not going to be able to post as frequently as I had been. I'm guessing it'll be once a week and probably on Wednesdays. I can't give an exact date, yet. I'm still working on updating my Etsy shop with some awesome vintage goodies and that takes a long time (descriptions, photo editing, measurements and all that). I'll post the usual blog previews on Instagram and Facebook, though. So, you'll have a heads up!
I miss you guys and I miss reading your blogs and I hope to catch up with y'all real soon! <3
