The other half of the day was spent in the basement of a pizza joint watching local comedians do improv. :D So, I wanted to put together something I would be comfortable wearing all day and it had to be appropriate for a night out. In that regard, the navy dress was absolutely perfect. I really love the puff shoulders; the pearl buttons; and the textured horizontal lines on the skirt. The fabric is thick, but not heavy, so I was warm outside, but I wasn't burning up in the coffee shop or at the improv show.
This is something that I wore last weekend. My partner and I were out for most of the day. Half of the time was spent at a coffee shop working. He did his coding stuff or whatever. Honestly, I have no idea what he does. When people ask me what my partner does for a living, my response is usually, "Say what, now?" Hehe. So, while he did...whatever it is that he does, I used the time to figure out exciting ways to teach complex concepts to my international students. Lesson planning is my least favorite part of teaching. Haha. It's time consuming, but obviously necessary and important. The thing is, I hardly need my lesson plan when I'm teaching. As soon as I enter the classroom, I'm on autopilot and I always have a blast. I'm really fortunate to have awesome students who are inquisitive and eager to learn. ^_^
I added the lace collar, over-sized cat eye glasses, two-toned tights and navy/brown oxfords for a dainty, carefree feel. I have been itching to wear the oxfords ever since I snagged them (with a gift certificate) during a 25% off shoe sale in November. I didn't think I'd wear them until late Spring or Summer, because snow and rain are not kind to suede fabric. For some reason, we keep having these bouts of warm weather and the sidewalks looked clear, so I took a chance. They're so cute! :D
You might recognize my black pom pom hat. I have the same style of hat in four colors. Obsessed much? Yeah, prolly. >_< Heh. They're really not that expensive at all, though. The hat is just $5.90 and I received it from my sponsor, Oasap. So, yeah. I hope you like this kind of quirky, rather sweet style. I should probably do a scary outfit soon, before people start getting the wrong idea about me. ;D
