Aquamarine (Barely There Challenge!) - Part 6/9

Ahhh! I feel so naked! >_< Haha. I hardly ever wear just a dress. I'm proud of myself for doing such a thing repeatedly over the last couple of weeks. It would not happen this often, but for the challenge!

So, I actually have this teal eyelet dress up for sale in my Storenvy shop. It's just a little snug in the chest area for me and I wasn't sure if that would end up bothering me in the long run. I'm still a bit on the fence about letting the dress go, because the design is so great. There's so much going on with the delicate, subtle print; the cross back; the finely stitched florals at the bust; and the soft velvet trim around the waist. I've been meaning to do some research to find out whether the dress is vintage. I can't shake the feeling that it might be. It's just so incredibly unique. I may transfer it to my Etsy shop.

I'm also wearing my new orange bag! Squee! Haha :DDD I was lucky enough to receive it through my clothing swap group. I'm not all that thrilled about the overall design, but I am super stoked about the bright, almost neon orange color. I really need more bright colored bags and I figured I could do some interesting things with this one. The fact that I can remove the long strap is an added bonus. :P

Here you can see the contrasting criss-cross straps and eyelet print in better detail. The dress really is fantastic. ^_^ I apologize for ruining the view with my dragon tattoo. Haha. I actually really like it and I get compliments on it all the time, but as you've probably noticed, I usually keep it covered up. I don't really do this on purpose. I just tend to forget that it's there. >_< Haha. Maybe I should try to show it off more?

The stitching of the florals at the front is so cute! I love the soft, tiny fringe balls lining the velvet "belt" around the waist. I'm a sucker for small details and this dress has so many little treasures. ^_^

This is such a beautiful dress! I love the embroidery and details on it as well! And I like how it has unusual scoop straps. I didn't realize that you usually don't wear so very little layers until seeing this post! Lol. It's funny; this week our outfits are a bit similar! :-P

I'm loving this. It's so different for you compared to a lot of what you wear, since I know you love mixing it up and having lots of accessories. It's beautiful in its simplicity.

That color is also wonderful. The blue dress and orange bag contrast perfectly.

Personally, I wear this kind of outfit a lot during the summer, because it's too hot and humid not to most of the time.

Oh, yeah man. It's actually quite large :D It always gets cut off when I wear backless dresses for some reason. I need more open back stuff, I guess. But yeah, I want to get another tattoo, I'm just too poor to do it at the moment. :P

So much to appreciate here! I'm really digging this tight, unified color scheme. I'm such a sucker for matchy-matchy with one bright shock of variation - in this case, the bag, which I also love.

As for "ruining the view" - never! I actually really like the look of body art peeking out from under fabric. Especially when the look might otherwise be twee. It's a little pop of badass.

Hahaha. I love that I'm just totally rocking your world and blowing your mind with my simplicity. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels all *o_O O_o* this month. Haha.

I'm really looking forward to being able to wear more than just one or two things. It has been such a pain, but I really have learned a lot, too! I honestly think that adding more to some of my outfits for this month could have potentially ruined them in a way. So, if anything, I'm learning a lot about editing!

AH! I love the orange and blue combo! Yes, the velvet detail on the dress is FAB. I have teal and brown eyelet dress that I keep thinking I might get rid of because I never wear it (so summery!) and I need to replace the zipper... I might just keep it now. ;)

I also love the semi-obscured tattoo - I had forgotten all about it, so it was a nice surprise! I always wanted a dragon tattoo on my back, but never ended up getting one (could never afford it when I was younger, and now I would probably get something else). My best tattoo really only ever gets seen when I'm in a swimsuit. Hmm... maybe I ought to get a new more visible tattoo? Haha. Just kidding. I already have nearly the most visible tattoo ever...

Anyways, this post makes me convinced that we are kindred spirits - although you are totally the much cooler and chic one. ;)
