On this same day, last year, there were heaps of snow and it was bitterly cold (oh and apparently, I was wearing the same tights? O_o o_O That's crazy. Haha). Where I live in the Midwest, it's typical for snow to fall well into May, even with the prediction of an early Spring. So, you can imagine my surprise to wake and find glaring sunshine, warmth and snow that had more or less completely melted away.
I even heard some chirping birds. I dunno...It could have been manufactured by my hopeful mind, but the sunshine and bird songs just did....something to me. I had always planned to wear the navy tuxedo ruffle dress, but I scrapped my original plan for layers and a heavy coat. Instead, I let my good mood guide my hands and I ended up with cheerful florals, bright leggings and comforting earth tones.
I have to say that the juxtaposition of the tuxedo ruffles with the bright florals is just the best f*cking thing in the world. Hehe. That combination alone would have been reason enough to smile, IMO. <3
Seeing as how it's supposed to be 59 degrees (yes, 59!) on Sunday, it appears that I'll be smiling well into the weekend. *^_^* Is there a possibility that Gaia could totally ruin my budding expectations with some malevolent form of precipitation in the future? Yes, of course. Will I let that ruin my current good mood? Absolutely not. Hehe. No sense in worrying about tomorrow. Take time to enjoy today. <3
