I'm sorry, what? Hello? Yes, yeah. Hi! I'm back. At least, for a little while, anyways. I dunno. Heh. So uh. How are you? How are you doing? :3 I'm goooood. Still studying for my law exams. That's basically my whole life, right now. >_< Yep. Eight or nine hours each day and sometimes six days out of the week (alternating weekends). Clearly, these photos were taken on my "off" weekend. Hehe. *^_^*
I didn't even do anything fancy, but I still wanted to dress up. I was excited to feel the sun on my face, get some fresh air, be among other humans, etc. Heh. We took the train to a fantastic little brunch place downwind of a sci-fi/fantasy bookstore that I wanted to visit. Yes, a sci-fi/fantasy bookstore. Best. Store. Ever. They only had like six Dragonlance books, though, which I was super disappointed about. I recently started to rebuild my childhood collection and I have close to a dozen books that I've been trying to keep an eye out for and I just can't seem to find them at any bookstore. I really felt like I was going to strike gold with this specialty bookstore, but alas. My tastes are just too esoteric. Hehe.
Ah, speaking of esoteric, I stomped out of the bookstore and waited for my Player Two outside on the sidewalk and a nice lady walked up to me and said that she loved my blazer. :3 Good feelings restored. Hehe. I thrifted this couch-tastic vintage blazer for less than $10. It has all kinds of loose threads. It's basically well on its way to falling apart, but I'm keeping it together as best as I can. ;) I added the crop top, chunky platforms, spiked shorts, scary sunglasses and ripped tights for an edgy, hard and soft vibe.
This very convenient alley was just off the busy street outside of the bookstore. After dodging some stray bipedal interlopers and four-wheeled slow driving oglers, we re-joined the hustle and bustle of the street; stopped into a nearby bakery for coffee and dessert and then made the long journey back to home base. I can't believe there are only two subway lines here. Two! >_< It takes forever to get anywhere. Gahhhhh. I'm still happy to be here, don't get me wrong. Just easing into the whole incessantly complaining city dweller thing. ;) Speaking of city dwelling, I had thought that moving to a larger, multi-cultural international hub would afford the benefit of blending in. Something I just couldn't seem to do effectively in the Midwest (or the South, where I'm from originally). Unfortunately, I'm still getting double takes, long stares and the like. *sigh* It is what it is. I just have to give no fucks and stare right back at them, yeah? I guess I'd rather garner interest than be a forgotten soul with a blurred face.
