Awww yeah! What?! I'm on the streets, ya'll! I got honked at and everything. :DDD Yes, that's right. I ventured out into civilization for this style post. As it turns out, it was more convenient for me to get my photos downtown than in the usual (and less daunting) quiet neighborhoods and such. The first breakfast place we went to was packed, so we ended up going to the heart of town to find stuff to nosh on. One of my favorite coffee joints wasn't that far from where we ended up, so I just took photos across the street. :P Doing that was easier than driving back out of town to find a more isolated spot.
Ahhh, there's just no substitute for the awkwardness of trying to be natural while people stare at you. Haha. <3 Anyway, hey man! Check this out! I'm wearing that awesome ModCloth coat from this post! It's the perfect shade of green. Just looking at it makes me think of Spring/Fall, so I just had to wear it.
Did it snow heavily just the week before? Yes. Was it -17°F at the time these photos were taken? Why, yes. Approximately how many f*cks did I give? None. Hehe. I'm determined to dress like it's Spring, so you can just deal with it, Gaia! >_< I wore four layers underneath my dress and tights and then I topped it all off with the super cozy coat. Yep. She didn't stand a chance! Gaia: 0, Human Burrito Anna: 1.
Angry much? Haha. Sorry! >_< At least the sun was out. I'm always happy to see the sun. It makes me smile. :D So, the dark brown knee high boots are from ModCloth, too. I got them during the Now Or Never Sale I told you guys about earlier in the year. They're so great, especially for the price I paid.
The oatmeal tights and floral dress are from ModCloth, as well. You know, I wasn't even trying to do a full-on ModCloth outfit, but I own so much of their stuff that I can't help it. Haha. >_< The dress is so fantastic. The colors and pale, subdued florals give it a palpable vintage feel that I just couldn't ignore.
The dress is a little bit short on me, so I wore a pale pink lace skirt underneath. The skirt is pretty awesome, too. It has a black exposed zipper that runs straight down the middle from waist to hem. For some reason, I've never worn it by itself. I bought it because I liked the intricate lace hem and I've primarily worn it underneath dresses and skirts to add aesthetic interest and additional length.
You might also recognize the lace collar on top of the dress. It's from the orange sweater I wore in this post. :D The dress has a wide, open neckline and I felt like it needed that little something extra.
On the outside, I felt cold biting winds on my face, but on the inside I felt the warmth and promise of Spring. I wanted to create an outfit that reflected how I felt. I hope that I succeeded. <3
