I was never really into wearing dresses. They always struck me as too girly. I'm not what some might call a "typical girly girl." I like to get my hands dirty and I don't see the point in nail polish. My ears aren't pierced and I don't wear rings. I'm not crazy into shoes, but I have my little fetishes here and there. I still have under 20 pairs, which I believe is quite unusual for a woman... or so I've gathered through intermittent observation. I guess what I'm saying is, I like pants and I like them a lot. Hehe.
This dress is comfortable and easy to wear. I find that it's the perfect dress for casual Saturday coffee shop loitering and it has huge pockets so I can keep many secrets. :D The billowing "skirt" and ruffled protruding pockets are totally my style. The two-directional stripes are well done, IMO. They're not fussy or crazy. Even if they were crazy, I'd say there is certainly a method to their madness.
I'm wearing it with a thin black belt, crochet pattern cardigan, a hand-made wooden disc necklace from Thailand, a mustard yellow purse with chocolate trim, black knee length tights and black lace flats.
I got the necklace, last year. It was one of those - this is the only one we've got - kinda deals. The owner brought it back from Thailand. I just had to have it. It looks pink from the photo, but actually it's a combination of delicate stripes of magenta
and purple on light brown wood.
The dress was $48, the black crochet cardigan was $30 and the flats were $30.
