Omfg, what happened to my head? o_O O_o Oh, don't worry, bros. It's just my kick ass bear hat from Canada. ^_^ My partner brought it back with him after a ski trip. It's a children's hat, actually. Haha. <3
So, hey check this out! I'm wearing some new stuff that I'm stoked to share with you guys! First is my rad vintage sweater from Barters Closet! Only $8 make you holla! w00t! I freakin' love that website. :D
After a little research I discovered that this hand knit floral sweater dates back to the late 70s, early 80s. Score! ^_^ It's a ramie/cotton blend, super heavy, thick and warm. As you can probably guess, it was an overcast, rainy, windy and cold day. I gotta say, the wind didn't stand a chance thanks to the sweater!
Aww yeah! <3 Look at those details! I love the colors. The vintage look and feel of this piece was just so overpowering. I just had to have it and now that I do, I'm even more in love with it. *^_^* Is it a total grandma sweater? Yes. Do I care? Nope! :D I can't wait to do more layering with this vintage jewel!
Oh, speaking of layering, you should know that I'm wearing a long sleeved striped tunic underneath. You'll probably remember the collar of the tunic from this previous post. I just couldn't resist adding lace to the floral mix. The collar makes the sweater uber vintage with even more grandma flavors! :D
I never thought I would use the words "grandma" and "flavors" in the same sentence. O_o
Aww, the wind flipped up my collar in the back! Bah! >_< Hehe. So, anyway, what else have I got going on here... Well, I'm wearing my new high rise brown corduroy cigarette pants I thrifted from Buffalo Exchange during my vacation in Austin, last month. They're so comfortable and awesome! Plus, I figured they would complete the nerdy sort of hipster granny vintage look I was going for. ^_^
I carried my Good Style Shop canvas bag mainly to hold my scarf and vintage mustard cardigan (also from Good Style Shop!). As far as local vintage shops go, Good Style Shop is my favorite. I did a piece about them earlier in the year complete with photos of the shop, if you're curious! Click here to read it!
I think the oversized tortoise cat eye specs catapulted me into full on nerdy hipster grandma territory. I wasn't so sure about these glasses at first, but they're growing on me. So, where did I go on this not so lovely afternoon? Straight to my favorite java joint for a peppermint hot chocolate! My hands and feet were freezing! It's supposed to be Fall, right? Because, it feels like Winter... What the Zeus!? >_<
Best. Sweater. Ever. <3
