My mood has been fluctuating quite a bit...a lot like the weather, really. The deadly sheets of ice and biting winds are getting to me. Not gunna lie. Hehe. So, I went to a dark place with this outfit. I tried to go for edgy as opposed to scary, but that's always a very thin line with me, as I'm sure you know by now. If you're intimidated, then I did my job. >;]~ For contrast, I added bright hues and patterns.
On that note, ya'll didn't forget about this crazy, messed up sweater, did you? I'm bringing it back!
Last time I wore the sweater, I had covered it up quite a bit. So, I wanted to show it off in all its loud, obnoxious glory. <3 Can you hear me, Winter? OK. How about now? Good. Hehe. ;P The colors and prints on the sweater are probably the most challenging for me. Dark colors seem to best compliment its chaos, but I always try to squeeze other colors into the mix, too. I figured neon socks would suffice.
Just to be clear, I'm wearing eight layers: a thermal top, two sweaters, a coat, thermal pants, the black leggings and two pairs of socks. Yep. I tried not to look too much like a burrito. I had no room left in that coat. Hehe. The second layer of socks has two functions. The first is obvious: warmth. <3 The second is to cover up the silver side zippers on the leggings. They go up to the top of each calf and I felt like they would be distracting. So, I covered them with the black socks, then added the neon ones. ;)
Why would I bother doing that, you ask? Well, because the leggings are the thickest and most comfortable that I own. Obviously, I could use a thick, plain black pair and I've already got my eye on some high waisted ones. I'm just waiting for a sale. ^_^ Hehe. So, I gotta make do with what I have.
I want to try to scale back on black and wear other colors with this sweater, at some point. I think I just have to be very careful about the colors I ultimately choose, because I don't want to put something together that just totally overwhelms the senses. If you have any color suggestions, do share! ^_^
