I know what you're thinking: 'Why is she wearing sunglasses? The sun isn't out. What a doofus!' Well, first let me say, yes I'm a doofus. That's a given. >_< However, I often wear sunglasses when it snows (or rains) because it keeps the precipitation from welling up in my eye sockets. o_O It's kind of freakin' necessary. Haha. If you're a hardcore biker (like me) and you bike in the elements; or if you just like walking around in the rain and snow because you're partial to gallivanting, you have to protect your eyes or you might die! Hehe. So, yeah, I'm no stranger to wearing sunglasses at times like this. ^_^
Alright, so now that I've gotten that out of the way....Hehe. Hurray for snow days! <3 Well, actually..it wasn't an official snow day. I was just being literal. :D This is the Midwest, after all. If you can still open the front door, then it's not a snow day. Haha. The snow came down pretty hard and the wind was erratic, but people were out shoveling, biking (snow tires FTW!) and leisurely walking their dogs.
I didn't want to miss out on the fun, so my partner and I decided to walk several blocks to get coffee. I don't think this outfit is particularly ground breaking, but I am wearing a couple new things that I wanted to share with you guys. So, my partner was kind enough to snap some photos of me before we left. ^_^
This houndstooth backpack is one of the newest additions to my collection of bags. You might remember it from my previous post about ModCloth's 70% Off Now or Never Sale. As you can see, it's much bigger than the product photos may suggest. It can hold a lot of stuff and I love that. It's fairly sturdy, though some parts of it strike me as a bit flimsy for a designer backpack. I think the quality is decent for the discounted price I paid for it, though. I look forward to wearing this bag often. :D
You'll also notice that I'm wearing a new hat! ^_^ I got it as an XMAS gift and I have it in brown, too. The cat ears are so cute. If you're a regular follower of my blog, you know how much I love animal hats. Haha. So, it should come as no surprise that I couldn't resist this one. It's fairly thick knit, it covers my bowling ball head (sc0re!) and it's long enough to shield my ears. Best hat ever! You'll see it often. :D
