I'm feeling sassy, this week! Haha <3 I tried to imagine what a post-apocalyptic saloon would look like in an utterly dystopian world and then I just kind of crafted my outfit with that image in mind. :D I can totally see myself busting through saloon doors wearing this with an old musket strapped to my back while wielding a sword. "Vodka on the rocks. Oh, who am I kidding, there hasn't been fresh water in ages!" The bar erupts in laughter and I enjoy my vodka straight up, giving all who enter shifty eyes.
I guess I'm living up to the "Queen of Layering" moniker with this particular style, though everything I'm wearing you have seen in a previous post, except my Threadless t-shirt which you can see in better detail below. Yes, it is possible to wear a t-shirt in Fall/Winter! :D OK, so we've got my black zipper jacket and underneath that is my thrifted vintage floral blazer, t-shirt and white blouse with gold metal tipped lapels. Underneath all of that, I wore a thin thermal long sleeved top and another long sleeved top over that. Haha. Yeah. I was nice and warm up top. The chilly bit for me was my thighs. ;D
These tights are not really for the faint at heart. They were meant to be seen with their faux suspender design and glittery gold details. They were called the "All Things That Glitter Tights" on ModCloth, and quite frankly, I just don't think this outfit would have been the same without it. It needed that edge.
Also, you can probably make out a bit of snow in the corner of this photo. Yes, it actually snowed! Bah! >_< The area I'm standing in for the photos has been well salted and you can probably see the salt chunks on the ground. So, whatever snow had accumulated in this area didn't really stand a chance.
The wind was not on my side when I took these photos. >_< The back of my asymmetrical waterfall skirt kept flapping in the breeze so it looks like I'm just wearing a short skirt in the first photo. Hence, I've included the side and back views so you can see the skirt a little bit better. It's one of my favorites!
Oh, dear.. am I actually looking into the camera, here? o_O O_o I did feel a little bit like a bad ass in this outfit, so maybe that had something to do with my sudden bout of confidence. Haha. And of course the wind is flapping my skirt again. Bah! Anyway, I'm very happy with how this turned out. I think I did right by the vision I had in my mind at the time. I started with the t-shirt first and everything just kind of came together. Plus, this outfit has something for everyone: studs, glitter, suspenders, florals, metal tips and robots mercilessly destroying some random city! I mean, come now. Who doesn't like robots? :P
Here you can see the Threadless shirt in more delicious detail! I've worn and washed this shirt many times and the print still looks fabulous. You can't really see the entire shirt here, but there's a part of it that says "tasukete" in hiragana. It means, "help!" in Japanese. The name of the shirt is "New World Order" on the website, if you'd like to check it out and see crisper high resolution photos of the print!
