It appears that I have an eclectic Harajuku-esque look going on in this post. :D~ I felt cheerful and colorful, so I did my best to express those feelings. It was a lazy day and my partner and I had nowhere in particular to be. So, we went for a walk to grab coffee. I got the bright idea to bring the camera along so I could: (A) show what I wore and (B) present my partner and his fashion style to you all! So, please be as kind to him as you have been to me all of these months. Woohoo! Get ready and read on! :D
After leaving the coffee shop, we took the long way home and just walked leisurely along a lake path. There was very little traffic. It seemed like everyone was snuggled up at home and safely tucked away from the quickly dropping temperature and cold, biting winds. Of course, this translated into optimal conditions for a little photo shoot. So we walked in the direction of a nearby secluded trail. :D
I'm wearing a few new items, that I'd like to share with you. In addition to my thrifted black animal ears hat, I'm also sporting my new Chicnova brown sweater and a grey pleated skirt. I did a review about Chicnova previously, which you can see here. I got the brown sweater along with the beautiful red satchel above and a black tassel purse with a braided handle from Chicnova. The sweater is listed as "one size," but it fits me perfectly. The torso is just right on me as I'm quite tall and the sleeves are just the right length as they come down to my wrists. Perfect for my monkey arms. Heh. Its thin, perforated style makes it a great layering piece for colder climates, but also makes it wearable in the summer.
I'm also wearing a chunky mustard scarf from Forever 21. It's super long. I mean REALLY long. It's a little unwieldy at times, but that's just because I'm not entirely keen on all of the different ways to tie longer scarves. I think I need to watch a couple tutorials, then I should be good to go. :D
The picture of me below on the bench is pretty representative of how I would normally spend my free time. I've got my iGrado headphones (which totally rock) and my iPod and I'm set. The only thing that is missing is a book. I could sit there and read for hours or at least until it became too cold for me to stay.
I like to bring music with me everywhere I go. I listen to music all day at home and I try to listen to it whenever possible while I'm working. Music really is everything to me. It makes life worth living.
Anyway, I thought I'd share one of the songs I was listening to when this photo was taken. :P If you want to get to know me better, check out my music blog. Sometimes, I'm not very good at expressing myself with words, so I use music as a way of compensating for my intermittent social ineptitude.
And now the moment you've all (probably, maybe? actually I have no idea) been waiting for. Haha.
I guess I'm getting a little personal here, but I want to share this part of my life with you guys.
So, this is my partner, Colin. He's from Canada and he's one of the coolest people I've ever met.
We've known each other for 10 years and he is truly the best friend I could ever hope to have.
As you can see, Colin dresses for comfort. Hehe. Though I would gladly sacrifice warmth for style, he makes no such concessions. I really liked what he chose to wear and I asked him if he minded if I showed off his style to my followers. He said it was OK, but he was SO nervous. I felt so bad... like I had frightened a puppy or something. Haha. I guess I had blindsided him with this, but he was a good sport and I liked being on the other side of the camera and focusing on someone else, for a change.
Colin doesn't really think he has a sense of style, but I think he does. The double breasted trench looks amazing and the "dog ear" lapels are such a nice touch. It makes the coat look effortlessly chic, whether it is worn open or closed. Colin's Threadless shirt basically shows off his nerdy side. He's incredibly intelligent and he has quite the love affair with science. So, it's no surprise that he's wearing a t-shirt depicting an infinite universe. He disdains skinny jeans. Hehe. So, he's wearing a pair of Levi's that are structured, but comfortably loose along with one of his favorite pairs of Saucony's. =)
Yep. This is my life. Thanks for being interested in it and, as always, thank you for your kindness!
