Oh you know. I'm just getting in touch with my inner Englishman, today. Haha. :D I'm also showing some bare leg! o_O O_o I was going to wear my faux over-the-knee sock tights and black flats, but I thought that would be playing it safe. I've never worn socks and sandal together. I didn't really know that there was a thing until I had discovered some bloggers who had worn them with varied success.
I thought that combination would give the look a vintage charm, so I decided to try it out. I felt awkward having so much of my skin exposed, but as you probably already know, I'm not that fond of wearing shorts without tights or something underneath. People say I've got nice gams or whatever, but I'm still self-conscious about them. *shrug* We all have something about ourselves that we don't like, right?
I'm pretty sure socks with sandals is OK, if you're a girl. A dude wearing socks with sandals just looks like a complete idiot. Hehe. So, at least that bit of gender bias works out in our favor, yeah? :D
Anyway, check out my new scarf, brah! It was designed in Spain and it has various game pieces printed all over it. It's so cute and I love the colors. ^_^ I received it through my clothing swap group, but the scarf was for sale on ModCloth. You can see the product photos here and get better views of the print.
The only other new thing I'm sporting are these slotted sandal flats. I had been looking for a staple pair of brown flats and these are perfect. They're casual, but chic at the same time. I like the almond color and the gills on either side of the shoe. The soles are padded, too. So, they're very comfortable!
The other bits of my outfit have been worn previously. You last saw the orange sweater here, the high waisted corduroy shorts here and the almond herringbone blazer here, among other posts. :P
You know, it was totally supposed to rain the day these photos were taken. It was overcast and there were drizzles here and there. So, that's why I brought the umbrella. However, as soon as the photo shoot ended, I swear to Zeus, the clouds parted. All of a sudden there was an abundance of sunshine and the sky was a bright blue. The rest of the day turned out to be just wonderful weather-wise.
So, after grabbing a quick bite, we rushed home to put up our solar powered deck lights. Hehe. I had taken them down and put them in a box since last Fall. Now that it's actually starting to warm up, I'm looking forward to sitting outside on the weekends and waiting for it to get dark so I can see those twinkling star lights. They make me so happy. I don't know, man. It's the little things, right?
