It was supposed to be a really cold day. At least, that was the previous day's forecast. So, when I stepped outside all bundled up and it felt nice, I was pretty upset. Haha. You'd think I would have been happy, but I'm just so tired of the emotional tug-of-war that is the transition from Fall to Winter. >_<
Some days can be really nice and crisp. Other days can be bitingly cold with unforgiving winds. One day could start out being cold, but then be really nice in the afternoon and then as soon as the sun goes down you wish you hadn't even bothered leaving the house because the drop in temperature is just unbearable. In the midst of all of these changes, we're supposed to somehow know how to dress!
Damn you, Gaia! Heh. Anyway, even though I wore layers, I was able to remain relatively comfortable even with the removal of my mustard scarf and brown corduroy blazer. ^_^ I wanted to wear something in-between quirky and sweet, but that also had elements of autumn and vintage charm. Why exactly I wanted to incorporate all of these things, I'm not sure. However, I liked the final product, so maybe the ends justify the means here. Hehe. The beautiful green and blue plaid skirt is from my sponsor, Oasap. It costs $17 and it comes in three colors. :D They have a red and green one which is pretty adorable. It was hard to decide between that color scheme and this one. I might end up buying that other one at some point, actually. At any rate, nothing says Fall more than green and blue plaid. :D
I wore a navy and white striped tunic underneath the cinnamon elbow patch sweater, because I really love the lace collar. I exploit it every chance I can get. :DDD I think the elbow patch sweater paired nicely with the plaid skirt. In the sunlight, the yellow fabric seems to take on this beautiful glow.
I wore the cherry red satchel for additional color contrast and then cooled off the brightness of the outfit with shades of brown (cat ear hat, cat eye glasses, knee high lace up brown boots) and some soft, but thick cream colored tights. I ended up wearing this outfit to the optometrist. Hehe. I needed to update my prescription because I'm planning on getting some new glasses from Warby Parker. ^_^
I'm having samples delivered. When they get here, I'll do a post so you guys can help me choose! <3
Have a nice weekend! <3
