Every Winter, I try to avoid wearing black as much as possible. However, lately, I've been losing that battle and miserably. I just can't seem to get away from dark hues. It's frustrating, but the heart wants what the heart wants. I'm stoked that I managed to mostly avoid wearing black in this outfit, though. :P
I really like this mix of warm and cool colors. It definitely reminds me of Autumn and I'm OK with that. Autumn is my absolute favorite season and earth tones are the easiest (and most fun) for me to work with. I ended up getting quite a few lingering gazes from passersby while I was on the sidewalk, but I can't really blame them. If I saw someone wearing such a brightly colorblocked outfit, I would gawk, too. Hehe. I take such looks as confirmation that I achieved the stand-out style for which I was aiming. :3
On the whole, the outfit is an artful remix of clothing that I've worn quite a lot over the years. The brown tortoise oversized round glasses are new, however. They were a gift from my sponsor, Sunglass.LA. I'm not sure how well they suit me, but I know that I love them. I just have this irrational affinity for large lenses and kooky frames. <3 I wear my thrifted oversized cat eye glasses a lot. So, it's nice to have another fun pair of quirky frames to wear on days when I'm feeling particularly eccentric. :P~
I'm super grateful for the set of glasses that Sunglass.LA gifted to me and you'll definitely get a chance to see the rest of them in the coming weeks. Their prices are pretty reasonable. The glasses that I'm wearing are just $10 and that's the average price across the board, though you'll find that some glasses are as high as $15. I hope your first week of the year is off to a great start! See you, next week! :DDD
