Hey, there! I'm excited to introduce you to one of my latest sponsors, Barters Closet! ^_^ This opportunity hit close to home, since Barters Closet is a fledgling operation. I actually know what it's like to try to start a small business. The statistics tend to be against you and I learned that the hard way. So, I have a special place in my heart for start-ups. We need more innovation in our dying economy!
So, I'm happy to help out in any way I can! This is an exciting project to be a part of since it is largely centered on affordable vintage clothing. When the co-founder, Connor, contacted me about a potential opportunity to help out, he told me that he doesn't feel as if he has a sense of style and he just feels comfortable in a sweater and corduroys. After viewing his personal closet on the website, his comment made me smile for two reasons. First, he's got plenty of style, as you will see below. Second, little did Connor know that I have a rather unhealthy obsession with sweaters and corduroy. Score! ;D
I'm using Connor's closet as an example, but if you visit the site you'll find a bunch of different items from which to choose. The site is still very new and there are only a few hundred people using it right now, so the offerings are limited. It's still worth checking out though, because you might find this!
I still don't have a "holiday" sweater. By that, I mean, something with a deer/elk design. It's a classic holiday print and everyone needs at least one such sweater to break out during Thanksgiving/XMAS.
I can totally see myself wearing this cream sweater paired with high waisted brown or green corduroys and a chunky, oversized mustard cardigan. This would look really cute with a polka dot skirt, too!
I actually like all of the sweaters in this post and if someone doesn't buy them, I very likely will, so you better be quick! :D Connor has an amazing collection and a majority of the offerings are under $10.
I'm a sucker for marbled buttons and waffle prints. I don't know if this cardigan is vintage, but it certainly looks like it and that quality along with the color makes it a winner. I'd love to own this, also!
By the way, I should mention that you don't actually have to buy stuff on Barters Closet, if you don't want to. You can also swap clothing or give your clothing to charity! So, if you think you have something pretty rad to offer, you can make a barter request with a member of the site for something like this aztec print sweater. If the member agrees, then each party pays for shipping and that's it! Pretty cool!
I have a pair of almond colored skinnies that would look great with this sweater, by the way. I think a deep teal cardigan would look fantastic with it, also. ^_^ I really like the bartering aspect of the website, because it's a lot like what I'm already doing with my informal clothing swap group. Sometimes we buy and sell in the group, but we mostly swap clothing and each swapper pays for shipping and tracking. Barters Closet essentially allows you to do the same thing, but with a much nicer interface!
I took one look at this sweater and felt an obsession brewing. The colors and prints are perfect! You can't go wrong styling this, in my opinion. Dark denim, carrot orange or brown immediately come to mind as fool proof color pairings. I would also dare to pair this with floral prints! Aww yeah. :D <3
See? Isn't Connor's closet f*cking awesome sauce!? Haha. He's such a cool guy, too and really genuine. I could tell that he truly believes in this cause and I wholeheartedly support him.
Good luck, Connor! I hope you succeed! ^_^
Oh and check out the short videos Barters Closet produces on Youtube. I couldn't stop laughing at this first one. I love movies like Office Space, so that should tell you a bit about my sense of humor. ;D

Barters Closet did not ask me to do this wish list. I thought it best to be completely transparent about my sponsorship activities, so I decided tell you all about it. I don't see many bloggers doing that and that's fine. In my case, I want to be as open and honest about what I'm doing with my blog as possible.
Please know that any reviews I write as part of a sponsorship will be my words and they will be honest. If a sponsor(s) tries to change that, well.. you'll see their banner disappear from my page. I'm not a mere conduit for advertisements. My blog and followers are paramount. Your respect matters!
