Have you ever felt like things were progressing very slowly in your life compared to other people in your age range? I know, I know. You should never compare yourself to other people. The grass is always greener on the other side and comparison is the thief of joy. Yeah, I get it. Hehe. Still, I can't help but feel like I'm in 5th or 6th place in a race and I just can't seem to make it anywhere near the finish line.
My only goal, from the time I was six years old, was to go to law school and become a lawyer. I worked tirelessly toward that end. My family couldn't afford to send me to college, so I earned scholarships and took out loans to pay my way through school. Although I graduated from law school with a mountain of debt, I nevertheless managed to make my only dream come true in my life time. I became a lawyer. :D
I graduated law school in my mid-20s. Despite the economic downturn, at the time, I still felt hopeful about my future. I figured 5-10 years down the road, I would be in a certain place, doing certain things. However, right now, I don't feel like I've moved far enough in the direction in which I want to be headed career wise. While I don't think that there's anything wrong with being a late bloomer, for someone who lacks a great deal of patience, this state of affairs can be quite maddening. >_< I'm ready to bloom, dammit! Haha. At any rate, I still remain optimistic and I hope that this optimism shows in my outfit. :P
I'm so glad that I got a chance to break out the blue floral tights, because I love them. <3 I used the colors in the tights as inspiration for the rest of the outfit, though I tried to keep things as neat and clean as possible. I figured just a simple white lace top and bright red romper would have the right impact without being too distracting. The patent black flats add contrast and dress up the outfit a bit more.
The light brown backpack is the final item that I received from my sponsor, Newchic. It costs about $15, which is pretty awesome for the quality that you get. The backpack feels very sturdy. The pocket flap on the outside has a magnetized closure. The inside of the bag isn't as roomy as I had hoped, but it's decent. I was able to put a large yellow cardigan, 1000 page novel, cell phone and glasses case in there. It isn't big enough to fit my 13 inch Macbook, though. Granted, the measurements on the website made that pretty clear. Heh. Still, I really wanted a nice, caramel colored backpack and I found it. :P
I hope my outfit shows how excited I am about the fact that Spring has finally arrived. :D I also hope that, with Spring's arrival, new opportunities will be forthcoming. I'm ready for whatever comes my way!
