While putting this outfit together, I couldn't help but conjure up images from old westerns. Then the words "Kentucky Bourbon" just came to me. It's a strong spirit that is contemporaneously coarse and refined. A little bit like yours truly, if I may say so. Hehe. ;D I think the earthy tones, heeled boots and fedora created a vintage aura of sorts that is palpably reminiscent of those uncertain days of old.
This outfit is completely remixed! I'm not wearing a single new thing. Good on me! Haha ^_^ It has been quite some time since I've worn the wool herringbone blazer. You can see the last look I created with it here. You've seen the backpack here, the high waisted skinnies here and the vintage cardigan here, among other posts. One thing I will point out is that I'm wearing a dress underneath it all. Yep! ;D
A loooong time ago, when I first bought this vintage dress, I told you that I had every intention of wearing it in ways that would not reveal its true identity. In other words, I bought the dress with very little intention of wearing it as such. Hehe. I promised that you would see me wear it in some unorthodox ways and I delivered by wearing it as a cardigan. Now, I'm wearing the dress like a collared blouse.
I liked the earth tones in the outfit, but I wanted to break up the color blocking in a subtle way. I think the multi-color dress worked quite well. Those vivid colors are what drew me to it in the first place. ^_^
I would consider this style one of my more...rustic outfits. I guess that would be the right word. I've been known to go that route from time to time. Click here to see an example from Fall of last year. In regard to that Fall outfit, someone once commented that it didn't "look like me." As if to say that, it wasn't an outfit that I would be expected to wear. This led me to wonder what this person meant. What did this person think my "style" was? I was very intrigued, because I don't think I have a set style. I just do whatever I feel like and I try to accept the consequences gracefully. ^_^ My style of dress isn't me.
I am me. <3
