One day, it's 34 degrees with icy winds and, the next day, it's blue sky and 60 degrees. >_< Guess which day it was when these photos were taken. I'll give you a hint: I grinned like an idiot all day. :D
Not only that, but I'm looking all tropical and sh*t. :P This floral maxi dress is pretty sweet, you guys. The pictures don't do it justice. There's this deep iridescence in the color scheme that I absolutely love. It's like looking into a pool of oil with those neon rainbow colors dancing in the sunlight. I'm not gunna lie. It's not cheap at $108. In fact, this dress is out of the price range of dresses I would normally buy (because I'm poor like woah). So, I'd be the lamer waiting for it to go on sale. >_< Haha.
Luckily, the kind ladies over at Karina Dresses offered to sponsor my blog. So, I was allowed to pick out a dress to style. ^_^ The dress comes in three different prints. The one I'm wearing is called Aqua Poppy. The material of the dress feels so soft. It's unlined, so it's perfect for Spring/Summer. Also, it won't wrinkle no matter what I do to it. It's crazy. That's one of the things that Karina Dresses boasts about their garments: no ironing necessary. As you can see, I knotted the middle of the skirt, since the length is a little awkward on my tall, lanky frame. I did a double knot and I wore it like that all day.
When I got home, I replaced the dress with a onesie, because that's how I roll. Heh. When I undid the knot on the dress, there wasn't a single crease in the fabric. It was like I hadn't even knotted it. I was like, wtf is this black magic? o_O O_o I love it, man. I HATE ironing. What? I'm lazy. I've said this a million times. Heh. Anyway, why can't all my clothes be like this? >=\~ So, yeah. I'm super grateful for the sponsorship and for this dress which must be laced with magical wrinkle fighting pixie dust.
Hmm. I haven't really talked about any of the other stuff I'm wearing. Thing is, you've seen it all, already. Hehe. I haven't worn the black combat boots in awhile, though. I felt like now would be a good time to do that, since I wanted to dilute the feminine floral fabric of the dress. Also, I shined the hell out of them. The dress and black coat are a little flat in terms of texture and I wanted some contrast. I added an edgy hair-do, a studded bag and some rad sunglasses to give the whole outfit more of a rocker vibe.
I wore this outfit to a number of places, as I had errands to run. One of those places was Home Depot. Haha. I definitely stood out. Let me tell you. ;D We needed supplies for our turntable rig. My partner is putting on a second shelf so I can mount my laptop and record mixes for my music blog. ^_^
When we finished with the errands, we got ice cream and just drove around with the windows down and blared indie music. We do that sometimes. We just drive without going anywhere in particular. I used to do that all the time when I had a car. I left my car behind when I moved out-of-state for law school. When I had my car, though, I'd take it out in the evenings and just drive and listen to music. Driving for pleasure is infinitely better (and less stressful) than driving because you have to get somewhere. <3
