Sometimes, all you have to do to make a simple outfit look grand is add a cute pair of socks. ;P I feel like the outfit really wouldn't have been the same without them. I mean, it's pretty basic and, as you know, I don't really do "basic." Hehe. Simplicity gives me all kinds of weird feelings. >_< Still, I try to do minimal styles whenever I can in order to push my boundaries and get out of my comfort zone. ^_^
It was a gorgeous day (for once!), so I really didn't need to add any layers. I gravitated toward the black dress, because it has so many little things that I love. It's understated, but really special. I really like the pleated skirt and the shirt dress effect at the bodice. The sleeves actually go down to my wrists, so I can layer something underneath for colder climates. It's a great dress to wear at any time of the year. :D
I added some understated, but chic vintage oxfords and a silky black bow tie to class things up. Why wear a black bow tie with a black dress? Well, because I felt like it, really. Haha. I like how it looks. *shrug* <3 The play on textures is nice. :P After that, I injected a pop of bright color and fun patterns with the shark socks. They're totally eating the f*ck outta those big juicy hearts. Haha. I love it. <3
After that, all I needed to do was grab a pair of my favorite sunglasses and I was ready to go soak up some sun and eat freshly made ice cream. :DDD I hope ya'll have an awesome weekend! <3
