Actually, it was more like a snow storm. The night before, I saw flashes amidst the falling snow and heard growls of thunder. I hadn't experienced snow and thunder, before. I thought it was pretty cool. :D After surviving the night, all I could think about was how best to spend this oh so coveted snow day.
My partner got to work from home, so it was nice to be able to hang out. In the afternoon, we left the apartment to help some poor soul get his car out of a mound of snow at the corner of our street. We brought a couple shovels to dig out the guy's front wheels. Eventually, four other people came over to help. We pushed the guy's car while he tried to back out and he finally made it. With no passage going forward, he reversed down the road until we could no longer see him in the swirling snow.
After that, my partner and I decided to grab some coffee and hot soup at a cafe down the street. So,
I layered up for this occasion. I've got my super warm and cozy mustard cardigan, thickly wrapped heather grey infinity scarf, maroon tights, knee-high grey socks and my lace-up brown boots.
The sweater wasn't warm enough to wear by itself, though. So, I wore a long sleeved thermal top underneath. Between that and the thick mustard cardigan, I was good to go. I topped everything off with a multi-colored winter hat to break up the color blocking in a fun and interesting way.
Oh and if you've never heard of Oasap or if you're curious about my experience
purchasing from them, you can read a review I put together here.
We spent the day at the cafe warming up with coffee and delicious soup, playing backgammon, chatting and reading. Back at home, we curled up with peppermint hot cocoa and watched movies. :D
