I guess this is my man repellent outfit for the week. Hehe. I'm a woman and women are supposed to wear dresses, so here's your damn dress. Oh, but it has all of these crazy lines all over it and the front is longer than the back and the over-sized pockets screw up the pattern in such a way that it dazzles your eyes. Sorry, dudes! >:D Oh and then I wore pants with the dress. So annoying, because now you can't see my legs! >:DD Oh and then I put on some scary sunglasses, instead of heart shaped ones. >:DDD Hahaha. Deal with it, bros. Deal with it! You know, I truly believe that man repellent style is an art form. It's not about throwing a bunch of unrelated sh*t together so you can look like a crazy person.
At least, that's not the way that I approach it. I think that there has to be a "method to your badness," if you will. It's not about wearing something that looks terrible in order to fend off the opposite sex. It's about trying to create a harmonious cacophony. o_O You want to try to strike that musical note that is off putting to some people, but not everyone. The outfit should be an acquired taste of sorts.
You don't have to wear something ugly in order to be offensive. Just being different is enough to make certain people uncomfortable. Knowing the gender stereotypes that most men cling to, it's easy to manipulate those stereotypes and put them to work in your favor without ending up wearing an outfit that makes you look like you got dressed in the dark and you have no style sense whatsoever. Heh.
I think it's really hard to strike that sickly sweet melody for man repellent style. It takes a lot of care and focus and I believe it is possible to get it completely wrong. I have a lot of respect for those ladies who can manage to hit that note and still maintain their ultimate sense of style. That being said, I'm not sure where this outfit would land in the cacophonous spectrum of successful man repellent style. At least, I can say that I stayed true to myself. Rest assured, if I didn't like this outfit, I wouldn't have worn it. ;P
So, what are your thoughts about man repellent style? Do I have it all wrong? ;)~
