Heeeey! Alright! This is what I'm talkin' about! Back to scaring people (in my *totally* menacing houndstooth MC Hammer pants). :DDD As you can see, I'm taking a stab at doing another monochromatic outfit. I haven't done this style since my first attempt back in October of last year.
I don't know why, but I've found that people have visceral reactions to harem pants. Mostly negative. Is it because people just immediately reject that which they don't understand or that which doesn't immediately fit into their personal aesthetic? I'm really asking here. Haha. I want to know! I think there are some really strange looking harem pants out there and obviously this particular garment isn't for everyone. I know there are very wrong ways to wear these pants and I don't know...these are my first pair so maybe I'm doing it wrong with this first attempt at wearing them. But dammit, they are so comfortable! It's like wearing pajama pants. Haha. I was so comfy and waaaarrrrrm. :D
I wondered if the houndstooth print might be too much for my first pair of harems, but I'm reaalllly diggin' it. Will I be able to wear this often? Probably not. The print adds a measure of difficulty in terms of versatility. Will I at least enjoy wearing them when I do get around to it? Hell yes! Excuse my stream of consciousness typing here. >_< I felt really comfortable in these pants and even though they may freak some people out or even disgust them, I guess I just don't f*cking care? Yeah, that's the ticket.
Sooooo, anyway. I don't know if you can tell, but I'm actually standing on a frozen lake. Yeah. I didn't enjooooy this. >_< However, I felt that the white background would really do the outfit justice, since I'm wearing primarily dark colors. Honestly, I couldn't wait to get off the lake. Haha. I just tried to keep my composure. What can I say? I'm just not that into walking (camping, driving, fishing, skating, etc) on frozen lakes. Give me a hot tub in the snow with a floating tray of dark and stormies, instead. ^_^
I love how in this entire post I've said nothing meaningful about how I constructed my outfit. Haha. I've just rambled. Sorry, man. Basically, what you see is what you get. A thick sweater, harem pants, a scarf and boots. Nothing complex, here. For some additional texture, I wore a lace bodysuit underneath and pulled the boat neck of the sweater down on one side. I can't remember where I thrifted that boucle sweater. It's verrrry old, but it's incredibly soft and I'm a sucker for the slouchy bell sleeves.
Alright. I'll hush. Haha. It's OK! You can open your eyes, now. The show's over! ;P
