I'm actually looking at the camera and smiling. Weeeiiiirrrrd. O_o o_O Hehe. Admittedly, I was in a really good mood when these pictures were taken (and the creepers were at an all time low, which always helps). :DDD My partner's parents came to town a couple of days prior. They drove up in an RV! Crazy pants. So, we'll be entertaining them for the next several days. On this day, we decided to take them out to brunch and then go on a bike ride to the lake to quaff spirits and enjoy the nice weather.
So, I opted for a sort of dressy, but pretty casual outfit. The striped skirt is easy to bike in and the braided sweater is super warm and cozy. I really adore the striped skirt. I just love the multi-directional lines and the uneven hem. There's just something about subtle, deliberate imperfections. <3 The mix of textures and patterns in the outfit are great, too, IMO. The sweater alone has several different patterns at play and I like the juxtaposition of chunky, heavy knits with lightweight, breezy fabrics. ^_^
I honestly felt like this outfit was pretty innocuous, but I still managed to garner a ton of stares everywhere I went. >_< People actually turned their heads on their bikes as I rode by. Haha. You'd think I'd be used to that sort of reaction, but I still struggle with it daily. I really loved wearing this outfit, though! It was super comfortable and appropriate for the day's activities. I hope you like it, too! :P
