Florals, Stripes, Pixels & Whales

Hi! :D So, as you may or may not know, I'm a part of a clothing swap group and somehow I traded a couple floral headbands and some Mighty Wallet luggage tags for this amazing floral high-low skirt which I have worn so many times already. I'm really surprised at how much I love this pleated beauty.

It was a pretty mild day, so my partner and I went on a coffee run and snapped these photos on the way. In addition to the skirt, I wore one of my favorite cardigans from UK designer, Louche. It has navy stripes and pixelated "suspenders." I love every excuse to wear this cardigan! It rocks! You can see a better view of the pixel art and the suspender details here. I last wore it on a trip to Amsterdam. :P

I also wore my whale T-shirt from Austin,TX based indie clothing designer, Supermaggie. I had actually considered putting this up for grabs in my swap group. I love the print, but I just couldn't for the life of me figure out how to wear it. Well, that is, until today. :P I think it added a touch more whimsicality. This look inspired me, so I think I will hold on to the whale tee and try to be more creative with it. :D

Ahem.

I feel like you post about going out to coffee with your partner incessantly and I feel like it's the cutest thing ever. Question: Are you addicted to coffee as well? I die without my daily dose.

Literally. Die. The kids at school don't even recognize me without caffeine. I lay on the floor and make gurgling sounds.

That whale tee is perfect. It's such a statement piece. I've been trying to get into t-shirts lately, as they are cheap and always plentiful at Goodwill. Something like this inspires me to keep on keeping on. ;)

Haha..yeah.. The weekends are the only time when I can find the time to chronicle my outfits for the week. Sometimes, I can take them the day of, but it's rare. We do coffee and brunch every weekend. :D

Yeah, it's a really fun tee! I'm going to try to create more styles around it for sure! :P <3

I love your high-low skirt! Recently, this has been a huge thing in my school. I would love to get one but it totally needs to be different! Any ideas?

Hey Olivia! <3 Hmm.. well, I'm really tall, so these maxi skirts look somewhat decent on me. If you're short, I would recommend wearing just a high-low skirt as opposed to a high-low maxi.

You may want to experiment with different colors and patterns. I know it's Spring now and Summer is fast approaching, so maybe a high-low in floral and mint (or white) would get you through the next four months. :D You don't seem to be shy of color (like me), so those are the hues/patterns I would recommend! <3

Such great layering here. I always want to try pairing florals with stripes, but I just don't have the right things in my closet to make that happen!
