This is my second attempt at mixing florals and I decided to go all out this time. :DDD Here, I'm mixing four different kinds of floral patterns. This may sound crazy, but when I looked at the finished product, I wasn't exactly blinded. Haha. I think everything actually works, because of the overlapping color schemes and soft hues. Perhaps this is my way of remembering Spring/Summer as Fall draws near.
I got the pale yellow floral dress from a sweet girl in my clothing swap group. I never thought I would be into florals as much as I am now. It's a serious addiction and a friend of mine warned me about it. She said once I start filling my closet with floral patterns, I'll become obsessed. She was right. Haha.
I'm slowly trying to ween myself off of florals, though I have to say that I enjoy the challenge that comes from attempting to style floral patterns. The color scheme in the pale yellow dress reminded me of vintage wall paper. I love that! :D The wooden buttons and mandarin collar also add a retro flavor.
In addition to the yellow dress and blue skirt, I'm also wearing a pink skirt with floral lace trim underneath. I just felt like something was missing and when I scanned my closet for that special something, the lace trim of the skirt caught my eye and I knew it would be the perfect garnish. :P
The wingtip heels seemed to be a logical addition, as well, due to their neutral color. The only thing I'm on the fence about is my floral lace socks. I think cream socks would have looked better, but I just didn't have any. I definitely need to get a couple pairs of those. I hope the black socks still look OK!
