It's snow! Yes, but also, nooooooooooo. =( Hehe. I'm not a fan, you guys. There are some days when I look out the window at the flurries and I think: "Hey, yeah alright, that's nice. How 'bout that there." More often than not, though, snow makes me miserable, especially when it starts to melt and then freeze.
It's the very definition of a death trap. I mean, have you ever almost wiped out on some curiously slippery snow? That's ice under there, bro! F*cking sucks. Heh. People really need to do better about shoveling the sidewalks, too. I mean, it's practically a religion in the Midwest (well, that and there are hefty fines for not doing it), so I had high expectations for Canada and man, seriously, you guys. Wtf. I'm finding out all kinds of things from living here. Let me tell you. Heh. I'm watching you, Canada. o_O
Needless to say, it took a lot of convincing to get me to go outside and brave the slippery slush and ice and the possibility of wiping out in front of a bunch of randos and losing all of my dignity. Turns out free coffee and dessert is all it would take. Who knew? Hehe. So, I decided to dress up for the occasion.
Fun fact: As I was having my picture taken, a lady with two kids walked up the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street and started piling them into an SUV. As she went around to the driver's side door, she called to me and said her kids liked my outfit. Haha. I said that was sweet of them and thanked her.
What else was I going to do? I mean, my first thought was: 'Is this outfit *that* childish?' Hehe. Yeah, probably. It's pretty quirky and the socks are pretty funny. It was just weird. It wasn't like *she* liked the outfit, it was that her children did. I don't know. Probably overthinking it. The whole exchange inspired me to hurry the hell up, though, because it made me realize that people were looking at me. Haha.
You'd think extreme cold would keep people indoors, but you'd be amazed at the number of people who a) actually like the cold and b) relish being outside in freezing temperatures. I can't catch a break. ;P
