I guess I'm ready to do some farming, today. :P I missed wearing these vintage denim overalls. They're so comfortable...like wearing pajamas in public. Hehe. The weather was gorgeous, too. So, I thought that would be a good enough excuse to dust off these babies and take them out for some fresh air.
I think this might be as close to a rustic/girl-next-door look as it will ever get for me. o_O I really like this style, though. Don't get me wrong! I just find it difficult to pull off that type of look. I'm surprised I came this close. :DDD I included some of my favorite colors: mustard, deep orange and olive. This is a rather casual outfit, but I feel like the styling made it look feminine and...dare I say...pretty. Heh. >_<
One of my favorite bits of the outfit is the deep orange cardigan I wore underneath the overalls. They have huge flaps at both shoulders and, you know me, I'm a sucker for little, weird things like that. The pointelle print and large buttons are really cute, too. To make things a little more interesting and to highlight those awkwardly awesome shoulder flaps hehe, I just pulled them over the straps of the overalls. I think doing so gave the outfit a little more of a retro flavor? I'm not sure. I dig it, though! :D
So, some of you probably already know this about me, but I'm not much of a meat eater. I'm an inept vegetarian in that I will eat eggs, cheese and fish, but that's it. The number of hamburgers I've eaten in my life can be counted on one hand. Seriously. The last one I had was eons ago, at that. So, let's just say that I wouldn't really wear socks with a hamburger print on them. Hehe. Of course, my sponsor, Sock It To Me, didn't know that I was a pescatarian and I'm not offended in the least. My only concern was that the socks wouldn't get worn often. I hate receiving something and then hardly wearing it.
It always feels so much like a waste, you know? Fortunately, my partner loved the socks when I initially showed them to him. When I told him about my reservations concerning long-term wear, he asked if he could have them. Now, he wears the socks like every other week. So, problem solved. Haha. ^_^ <3
Anyway, you'll notice that, instead of dwelling on the print, I focused on the things I liked: the color and those cute sesame seeds. When I'm just standing, you see a little bit of beige and those white dots. However, when I sit down and cross my legs, you can see that those dots are seeds and that they're part of a burger bun. :P I like the spectacle of that little reveal when I'm wearing printed socks. :D~
