Sooo, my birthday happened and this is what I wore. :D My partner totally spoiled me with good food, strong drinks and alcohol infused desserts. Yeah. He knows what I likes. Hehe. Thanks, dude!
Since it was a special occasion, I decided to bring it hard. >:D~ I wore three different kinds of polka dot combinations: a red/white men's bow tie; a white/black sleeveless dress (yes, that's a dress!); and black/white socks (which you can't see, because they're a surprise, silly.) :P The suspenders, bow tie, palazzo pant trio brought me so much joy. The fedora and vintage men's tassel loafers made me feel even more masculine. The brown satchel added to the vintage theme I was going for and I liked the color contrast between it and the navy pants. This outfit is 100% me. I absolutely loved wearing it. <3
I told my partner that people might think that I'm transgender and that we're a gay couple and he laughed. I love dressing like a dude and he's always been totally cool with it. Androgyny FTW! *^_^*
eShakti Review
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to shop with eShakti, or anywhere else for that matter, since I'm in total money-saving mode. So, I couldn't pass up the chance to try out another one of their products and, this time, I was able to have the product custom made! *^_^* I've never had clothing made *just* for me. I didn't want to get another dress. Instead, I wanted to really put eShakti to the test and do pants.
My body proportions are insane, so I've always had a difficult time finding clothes that will fit me properly. Pants are the WORST. I always have a horrible gap in the back, because of my small waist and big derriere. This is why I have a preference for anything and everything high waisted. When I came across these navy palazzo pants, I freaked out. They're high waisted; the color is seasonless so I can wear it all year round; and it looks so chic. I've always wanted a pair of wide legged pants.
Measurements & Fit
I filled out eShakti's custom measurements form, which included everything: total rise, inseam, outseam, low waist, high waist, etc. I have a short torso, so I knew that I wanted the pants to sit an inch above my navel. Even though my natural waist is 28 inches, my high waist is 26.5 inches. To give myself some extra room, I used 27 inches for the high waist measurement. I even used a pen on my stomach to mark how high I wanted the pants to sit on my waist. Needless to say, I crossed my fingers.
When I received the pants and put them on, they fit me *exactly* where I wanted them to fit. When I sat down, the back didn't pull or sag. The lining inside is satiny smooth, so they felt like a dream. So comfortable! T_T I loved the way it flowed as I walked. I've never had pants fit me so beautifully. I wanted to cry. Yeah. I know, but that's how incredibly disappointed I've been with mass produced pants.
I mean, not everyone can fit perfectly into a size 6 or 8 or whatever. All of us have completely unique measurements. So, there's no substitute for having a garment custom made. Nothing can beat that! Of course, custom tailored clothing isn't cheap. For that reason, I haven't been able to indulge in it. So,
I'm even more grateful for this opportunity to see what it's like to have something specially made.
I'm sold on custom tailored clothing. If eShakti ever decides to offer custom made high waisted jeans, that would send me over the top. I'd just have to tell them to STFU and take my money. Haha. That would be incredible and, from my recent experience, I know it would be totally worth every penny. ^_^
I felt confident, well-put-together and chic in these palazzo pants and I really needed that on my birthday, because I've been feeling old like woah. Haha. They gave me another reason to smile. :3
