Oh, dear! O_o o_O Would you believe I wore this to the farmer's market? Hehe. I felt like the white tiered dress and cream cardigan looked perfectly bohemian, but also just a little bit too feminine for my taste. So, I toughened things up with the boots and fringe bag. Then, I finished with the steampunk sunglasses for just a touch of badassery. :D I guess Halloween came a bit early with this one? Haha.

If I die, I think I would want to be buried in this outfit. What? OK, that's a bit morbid. I would be looking good, though. Right? Riiiiight? :D Haha. Anyway, this will be a short post since I'm recycling a few things. You won't have to stare at my funeral outfit for too long. Heh. The white tiered dress is a thrift find from an annual summer street fair in my city. I've had it for maybe two or three years and I forgot how amazing it was until I threw it on for the farmer's market. It had been awhile since I last wore it.

I could have just put on a pair of flip flops, grabbed a canvas bag and called it a day with this one, but I wanted to do something to elevate the dress.. something that would inspire me to wear it more often. So, I wore a sheer floral blouse underneath and slipped on a thrifted cream cardigan. I added the thrifted gold locket necklace to round off the vintage horror thing I was (inadvertently) going for.

It wasn't until after I had sifted through these photos that I decided on the current blog post title. I had a rather sweet one picked out prior to that. However, the scary vibes I'm giving off just made that title seem inappropriate. Haha. At any rate, I like how this outfit turned out and I hope you dig it, too. ^_^

Ah totally love the harder edgy compliments to the soft feminine dress, I think thats why the title is so appropriate. It does kinda remind me of the corpse bride, in her lovely dress but being a creepy skeleton. Its awesome!

Your wardrobe never ceases to amaze me. I can't help but wonder how such a girly dress found it's way into your wardrobe to begin with! ;D

The layering is amazing as usual (strapless dresses can be styled in a versatile way - usually I avoid them like the plague!), and the juxtaposition of black accessories against the white dress... It's incredibly striking and makes me want to get rid of my rainbow wardrobe! LOL.

You're right- you could have just worn it with flip flops, but then it wouldn't be very you. I love the mix of tough and girly.

This really does look like you might be in some horror film. I think it is the contrast of black and white rough and soft. I hope you didn't scare any of the farmers ; )

Haha, nah. I decided not to wear the sunglasses. I kept those in my bag. I think it's the sunglasses that send people over the edge. :3 Actually, one of the bakers gave me free bread. Haha :P

Hahaha, I don't know. We usually wake up really early and plan to nosh on something from the farmer's market for breakfast. My partner always goes straight to the coffee cart and then gets some sort of sticky bread substance. Hehe. I think he got something jelly filled, so it's a wonder he didn't get any of it on me. It's always so crowded, so we're typically shoulder to shoulder and moving at a crawl while he eats with one hand and holds a canvas bag in the other. Hehe. I always get a plain croissant. So, at the most, I would have gotten some crumbs on my dress and I probably did. ^_^

Hahahah, not morbid at all, gotta have some black sense of humor :D I've thought about what song I want to be played on my funeral, thinking about something weird and inappropriate like Rammstein or maybe some soundtrack from an anime lol :D
Love the dress, perfect for Halloween too, just put on a little pale make up and you're set to go! ^_^

When I first saw this outfit on Instagram, I thought the blouse was part of the dress. They just look so perfect together! I really love how you contrasted the lightness of the dress with the black accessories!

Aaaah, yup, I think this look is straight out of an old ghost story! You look much more beautiful than scary! <3 And I absolutely love the black, more structured accessories in contrast to the light, flowy dress and cardigan. Also, I was going through old papers a few days ago and came across an actual playlist for my funeral I'd written out in college. It's pretty good! Mix CDs for everyone! ;)
