I've always felt like I was destined to live in a big city. By that, I mean a place like New York City or Tokyo---a place where neon lights make the pavement glow all night long. <3 Large cities have a pulse, you know? It's something you can actually feel, if you're not too caught up in the chaotic flow within the city's swirling veins. I hope that I can permanently relocate to a big city, very soon. Country life sounds fine and all, but the epicenter of action is in the city. If that makes me a city slicker, then so be it. ;)~
So, the only "new" thing that I'm wearing is the beautiful, patterned fringe poncho that I received from my sponsor, Fiery Finish Vintage. All other pieces are "old," and by that I mean (a) you've seen the items already and (b) I've owned each item anywhere from one month to several years. In that regard, it has literally been years since I've worn the pleated grey dress and don't ask me why, because it's gorgeous and there's really no excuse to go even one year without wearing it. This kind of thing just happens. *shrug* Hehe. I have too many style ideas and certain garments get ignored in the process.
At any rate, the star of the show is the colorful poncho. Without it, the outfit would just be a mix of black and grey. Chic, but just not as interesting without that splash of color. Right now, the poncho looks more like a scarf worn inside the black coat, but it's true nature becomes evident when the coat is removed.
I actually thought that the poncho had sleeves, but it doesn't. It's completely open. There's a v-cut at the top that keeps it from moving around too much when you put it on, but the "sleeves" are entirely of my own making. Hehe. I was thrilled to discover that design element, because that means I can wear the poncho backwards or forwards. I can wrap it any which way I want and I can wear it as a scarf, too. ^_^ I'm a huge proponent of that kind of flexibility, so I know that this poncho will get lots of wear! <3
I really wanted to show off my entire dress, so I braved the cold winds. The pleated bubble skirt and the speckled fabric are my just a couple of my favorite bits. I always feel so put together when I wear this dress. Thank goodness it still fits after all these years, too! Hahaha. If it still fits 10 years from now, I think it would continue to look just as chic and sophisticated as it did when I first wore it. It's timeless.
