Soooooo, I cut a bunch of my hair off. Yep. Yeah. It needed to be done. I got so tired of talking about it. It got to the point where, at least once a year, I would threaten to cut off all my hair and never do it because of cost issues, maintenance concerns and/or the possibility of becoming unemployable. >_<
One day, I was browsing Pinterest and I found a board full of chicks with shaved hair styles and I just f*cking lost it. I texted my partner while he was at work: "I need you to help me shave my head when you get home." To which he replied: "What?" To which I replied: "I have the parts I want removed already sectioned out, but our mirrors suck ball sack and I can't see if the scalp lines are straight, so I need your eyes." To which he replied: "Are you sure you don't want a professional to do this?" To which I replied, "F*ck professionals." Finally, he said, "I love you. You're awesome." Done and done.
Now, here we are. Haha. *^_^* I couldn't cut *all* of it off, unfortunately. Only the back and sides. >_<
I didn't get a close enough cut, either, because we didn't have the right equipment. We did it all with very sharp scissors, if you can believe it. A proper hair trimmer is on its way and I'll be shaving the sides down more closely and evenly very soon. I just really needed this. I didn't care if scissors were all we had. It felt great watching my hair fall to the ground as my partner snipped it away. Good riddance! >=|~
As you can see, I kept it crazy long on top, so I could do some radical sh*t with my hair on the weekends, but wear it down or pulled back when I'm in a professional setting. So, I don't have to worry about getting fired, any time soon. Haha. Maintenance is pretty low, but I do find myself stumped as far as styling ideas. I guess that's what I get for being impulsive. ;F~ I'm slowly figuring it all out, though.
Right. So, fashion. Yes. I did a very simple outfit, but I added a lot of interesting little details to give it the complexity that I always crave. I turned up the sleeves of my Polaroid tee to give a harder edge to the look. I wore the slotted ankle booties for the same reason. The black pencil skirt gave the outfit a little sophistication and sex appeal, though I didn't feel particularly sexy. Haha. I think I gave off more of a scary vibe, if anything. The kaleidoscope glasses topped everything off beautifully, too. I had been lusting after them foreeeever. Make no mistake, though. You can't see sh*t while wearing them. It is exactly like looking through a kaleidoscope. So, wear them only while stationary! Sitting at an outdoor cafe, beach lounging, taking blog photos. Hehe. All safe activities you can do while wearing these. ;D
Dressin.com Review
The fantastic black handbag is a gift from my sponsor, Dressin. I know you guys were probably getting tired of seeing me wear my other black satchel. Heh. It's the only dressy black bag that I have and this fact has started to show, because I use it constantly and the bag is getting really worn out. I wanted another bag that was about the same size and just as snazzy, so I could give the other one a much needed rest. This bag worked out wonderfully. It was about $20. It has a ton of pockets, which I love, because I'm a huge fan of hiding things in my bag only to forget about them. Heh. I can unhook the long strap and carry it like a clutch, which is also awesome. The quality of the material is very good, too.
I can't say much about Dressin's returns and exchanges, since I haven't had a reason to send anything back to them or ask for an exchange. This is the only item that I've received from them. I did, however, sign up on their website and go through the check out process. I noticed that the website uses a secure connection and you can check out with PayPal, too. So, I was glad to see that. Just be careful about the shipping costs. The shipping is calculated by weight, so pay attention to the weights listed for the items you're interested in. It can add up! If you're in the United States, you do have the option of using ePacket, which is a USPS affiliated international shipping service. You'll see it in the listing of shipping providers. I noticed that it was one of the quickest and cheapest shipping options available. ^_^
The handbag was sent to me via China Post with a tracking number. It took about two weeks for it to arrive and it was well packaged. ^_^ The product Dressin sent me was exactly as described on the website and I'm really happy with it. If you have any questions about my experience with Dressin or, if you have an experience with the company that you'd like to share, feel free to leave a comment! <3
