Meet Bernadette of Outfits Not Just Clothes

When I discovered Bernadette awhile back on Chictopia, I was immediately drawn to her bold use of colors and prints. I generally struggle with figuring out how to meld those two things without looking like a clown. Hehe. So, I'm always on the look out for bloggers who know how to mix both. Clothes are things that you wear for their practical use. Outfits, on the other hand, they're a whole different story and it's clear that Bernadette gets that. She has a passion for style and I find that she truly exemplifies the name of her blog. The outfit on the left is just absolutely stunning. The pattern work on the dress is so flattering and the white cardigan really pops. It's hard to tell that Bernadette is laden with baby! Hehe. :DDD |

Also, this would be a good time to mention that Bernadette is in the midst of a maternity style challenge. Essentially, she's investigating ways to stay true to her personal aesthetic while being pregnant. So, if you're expecting and you need some style ideas, you'll find a wealth of good tips on Bernadette's blog. One thing that you'll learn straight away: you can still have fun with patterns! On that note, check out the lace and polka dot ensemble on the right! Holy sh*t! I feel like I could look at it for days. Haha. It's really fantastic. I would never think to do that kind of combination. I love the mix of plaid and houndstooth (and tweed! <3) in the last photo, too.
