Oh, hello! :D Here's something I put together for an evening of shopping. Running errands is rather dull, so I used the shopping trip as an excuse to dress up a little and have fun. ^_^ For this outfit, I did simple color blocking with earthy tones. I rather like how this turned out. The chocolate corduroy blazer, deep teal sweater, cumin skirt, cat eye glasses and fedora hat give this look a rustic and vintage feel.
The skirt is ModCloth's A Day's Work Skirt. It's the first skirt I've seen that has hidden belt loops. It's little details like those that I love about clothing. ^_^ It's high waisted, which is perfect for me, as I am tall. I really like its cinnamon/cumin hue. It pairs so well with deep teal. The pockets are a bonus, also.
The beautiful mixed pattern sweater is from my sponsor, Persunmall. I've wanted a teal sweater forever and now I finally have one. Yay! ^_^ <3 It retails for $44, but it's currently on sale for $28. Oh and it's a Bershka, too! I was surprised to find that out when I received it. The company that owns the Bershka brand also owns Zara and Pull and Bear. The fabric is soft, thick and warm and it has small vents at the hem so you can achieve a tucked in look with high waised skirts/pants without having to stuff the whole bulky sweater into them. Clever design! You'll see what I mean in the next photo.
Here you can see how the vents in the fabric allow just the back part of the sweater to hang loosely while the front part of the sweater is tucked into my skirt. You may have also noticed that the sweater comes just below the waist line on me, so it's a bit of a crop sweater. I don't really mind, though. ^_^
Finally, I felt like I had to add just a little bit of a surprise in the outift. I love the colors, but really this is as simple as it gets for me; and of course this knowledge ate away at me until I figured out how to add a colorful twist. I remembered that I had ModCloth's Your Sweet Self Socks tucked away in my drawer and I thought it would be perfect, because it's plain black at the front and super cute colors in the back.
I always look to the future. In my view, the past is something you learn from, but never dwell on. Yep. Never look back. Always look forward! Well, unless you have peacocks on the back of your socks. In that case, you should totally turn around and look at that shiz, bro! :D Have a great weekend! <3
