This outfit has a hipster, slightly eccentric starving artist kind of vibe. Hehe. When I looked in the mirror, the lyrics to Bleecker Street just popped into my head. <3 It's one of my favorite songs. If you've never heard it before, you're in for a treat. You will be earwormed by the end of this post. I guarantee it. Haha.
Earth tones are my strong suit, so I feel like all of the colors I chose go together naturally. I played around with textures to keep things interesting, though (i.e. the chunky loose knit hat, the woven cardigan, the vertically lined scarf and the subtly chevron patterned corduroy maxi skirt).
For a little more femininity and brightness, I wore a floral tunic tucked into the skirt. I think it's a nice little surprise when I open the cardigan (and a respite from the color blocking theme that I had going). :P
If I saw a girl wearing this outfit, I'd assume that she was an artist or an art student on her way to her studio to make abstract sculptures or something. Hehe. You know, like someone cool or whatever. However, in my case, it's a girl who went around the corner to a coffee shop to drink a hot beverage and watch people walk their cute dogs on the sidewalk and ride their bikes. Yep. So normal, it hurts. Haha.
