Blast From The Past

Hi! *^_^* This is something that I threw on for a bike ride downtown. The annual film festival is upon us and my partner and I got tickets to see a surrealist film. The weather was so nice that I suggested that we take our bikes. Amazingly, the ride home after dark was perfect. I didn't even need the coat. :P

I've been itching to wear this vintage dress ever since I got it, last year. It's unlined and a little see-through, so I was super stoked to find out that it would be sunny and 60 degrees. :D I love the oversized collar and the little red bow that is attached. The dress is quite roomy and baggy on me. I'm not sure if I want to get it tailored, yet. Anyway, it seems that people at the movie theater loved the dress, too. Every time I looked up from my phone or looked away from talking to my partner, I'd end up locking eyes with someone who was staring at me. >_< I admit, it's not everyday that you see someone wearing this kind of outfit. Still, I'll never get used to the intense gawking and the awkward smiles.

In situations like those, I always feel like an animal at the zoo. Heh. I'm just waiting for people to throw peanuts at me. o_O Anyway, the fantastic raygun socks are from my sponsor, Sock It To Me. What better way to spice up a simple outfit than to throw some futuristic weaponry into the mix? Radness. ;D

I'm still trying to master minimalist style. It's not exactly my forte, but I really like how this outfit turned out. I don't think I could have added anything more to make it better. It's perfect just the way it is. <3

This is such a beautiful outfit! I loooved the dress and the collar, the red detail, and I can really understand why the person was looking at you (more than one :) Minimalist style is also not my forte, but I think you did it so well now, and the beautiful socks complement the look so well! This is one of my favorite dresses, I think you should leave it the way it is, don't tailor it :) You look really fabulous!

Really? OK. Well, I just might leave it as is, then. I mean, the extra fabric could come in handy in the winter, because then I could wear a sweater underneath it and no one would probably notice. Haha. So, there's that. :P <3

Oh, man, you look great in that faux schoolgirl styling all twisted. I get those gawkers too, and I'd be okay with it if they threw french fries, fresh, hot, lightly salted, not much ketchup - would stain the outfit - but peanuts? No WAY! heh. Love this. It would also look good on the bike. You'd think when you dress minimalist the gawkers would calm down - but NO. You are enigmatical.

I love when the weather is perfect for evening bike rides! It makes a night out so much for fun because the way there and back are events too :) I love this dress and although it looks great on you like this, I usually prefer dresses with sleeves to be shorter too- so I feel ya! I actually posted an outfit today with a similar collar/bow!

This is awesome! I wish I could pull off something like this! I love that dress and I don't think you would need to get it tailored, I quite like how it fits a little more loosely! I love this, especially with that red bow. I also love the socks and the shoes. You nailed this. If you were at the movies in this, I would be staring (in envy) as well.

this dress looks so great, I love such vintage pieces! I've got one vintage dress from early 80s, but the style is definitely 70s, it was sewn by my grandma and it's still in perfect condition.
So, if I were staring at you like those people, I would also smile and tell you that you look fantastic! It's really great that there are people like you, who dress in unique way. Otherwise the world would be boring!

Okay this outfit totally reminds me of that girl from Kill Bill but less violent haha. Again I love how you pay attention to details. Somehow those raygun socks match perfectly with your whole outfit. It really completes the look <3

I don't get that much glares here in the big city, but when I visit my parents at my tiny hometown maaaaaaaaaan, people go nuts. I feel exactly like an animal in the zoo, as you said,so much staring and glares, and sometimes even laughter, crazy humans! :D
