I had to come up with this one real quick, because the heat, you guys. The heat. Omfg. T_T You know,
I was really looking forward to a couple months of 55-60 degree weather, but 70+? What the hell... =[~
I had some really layered up outfits planned and the weather kind of just ruined it all. Yeah. Thanks so much, Gaia. You're the gift that just keeps on giving, you know that? Full of unwanted surprises. >_<
So, I started digging through my sock drawer for inspiration, pulled out the cute robot socks and just kind of took it from there. I liked the way they looked with the black shirt dress and the clean finish with the vintage cap toe oxfords. I added the cozy black cardigan, just in case (turns out, I really didn't need it at all heh) and threw on a fedora for good measure. Now, I could have just left it at that, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was missing something. So, I threw on the wolf sweater, which I hadn't worn in ages, added a bow tie (because bow ties are awesome!) and voila! Cool story, bro. Yeah, I know. :P
Why wear a black bow tie with a black top? I know. I get it. The thing is, I think it works. The textures involved are sufficiently different and I appreciate that little subtlety. Also. I received a compliment on my bow tie from a total rando red bearded hipster bro and he said I was a "cool person," so you know what? It was totally worth it. <3 Thanks, red beard bro, and you're a cool person, too, or whatever. *^_^*
