I feel like all I need is a really sharp katana and I'd be all set. Haha. :D We've had this bamboo hat lying around the house forever. I don't even remember when/where we got it. It doesn't even have straps attached. Still, when I got dressed, I just couldn't help the urge to add the hat to the outfit. It made the whole thing just look cooler, somehow. I don't know. Hehe. It gives the outfit a bit of a cyberpunk vibe.
In its current state, the hat isn't very practical. Heh. I'd love to find a way to modify it so I can wear it without the straps since I'm not keen about them anyway. Also, it would be awesome if someone did a drawing of this outfit. I can totally see something like this in a dystopian graphic novel. In that case, the overalls should probably be a lot more form fitting. Hehe. Anyway, I would have liked a full view of the combat boots, but I also had to avoid rolling up my pant legs to an awkward length. I haven't seen this combination before, so I thought it was worth a try. I think the boots make sense with the whole outfit.
This style is pretty simple. I applied everything I learned from my Minimalist Style Challenge and honestly, I can't think of a single thing that should be added to make the outfit better. The steampunk sunglasses, sheer lace top, studded barrel bag and combat boots do all the work. Each element adds a toughness to the look, though the bamboo hat really elevated it by taking it to a futuristic level that I just think is so cool. Oh and sorry about the poofy bangs. Humidity is my sworn enemy. Haha. >_<
